I'd say there is 0 chance that the Lions select Quinn, from everything I am hearing they want to focus on their oline while avoiding another Harrington mistake
I don't think you can compare the two. Harrington had one good collegiate season that was misconstrued as very good. His completion percentage was awful. Completion percentage is typically a great indicator of what kind of QB you're getting. Harrington- 58.8 percent Ramsey-57 percent Boller- 53.4 Grossman- 57 Vick-54.2 Cade McNown- 58 Akili Smith- 58 Granted, you have your Couch and Leftwich types who don't perform up to par, but they typically come from pass-happy college systems. There are very few quarterbacks in the last couple of years who have been able to overcome a low completion percentage like Harrington's and succeed in the pros. I think people are overthinking Quinn. He played in a West Coast Offense for two years and Weis' pro offense for two years. He played excellent competition over that term and he has a plus arm and great awareness. He's a very sharp kid. His TD-INT ratio over the last two seasons has been obscene. None of that really matters in the grand scheme. Lets face it: Judging by the way Millen has pursued the wide receiver position the last few years, he either isn't concerned with repeating mistakes or he's got his sights set on Calvin Johnson. The Lions have depth at running back. They have a decent receiver group, and if they keep George Foster, they have upgrade the right side of their line. I see no reason why they shouldn't take Quinn. He's the type of kid who can resurrect their franchise. -X-
