Jets signed DE Michael Haynes. The former Bears first-round pick has the size to play end in a 3-4, but bounced around the league last season. He'll battle to make the team. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2461
ha! on this team i woulnt be so quick to call anyone a camp fodder. Stacy tutt and Wallace Wright can attribute to that. plus the jets like him last year. but he signed with the saints. the you add the fact that we have OLD kimo and bobby. i think he has fair shot if he shows anything in camp.

I Like it!! I'm a PSU grad, so I'm biased, but I was thinking about him like 6 months ago. Not sure what has happened recently with him, but I like the move!
So lemme get this straight... DeWayne Robertson for Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman? Wow, i'm stunned to say the Jets made better off in that trade...THE JETS!
How could it possibly be pathetic? He was signed to be a reserve who'll have to play well to make the team. Were you expecting pro bowlers for the backup spots?
And I think there was a 5th rounder of our's that was involved... I'll go look it up. Edit: It was a fourth rounder, and they drafted a backup DT - Ian Scott.
Well maybe. but who could the jets taking in those slots. we wouldnt have drafted grossman thats for sure. and with thomas and ellis and abe we wouldnt have drafte d haynes. but the 2003 1s t rd is bust central. 3 standouts in the entire 1st rd after #14
Another DE. How many is that now? Is that the only position the Jets want to take care of in FA? I know, I know, Fa's has dried up and pickin are extremely slim. The Jets are spending in a very smart manner. Hopefully is live up to what he was expected of him when he came out of PSU.
No. The Jets traded the 13 and the 22 for D-Rob. The Pats traded up to the 13 with the Bears and took Ty Warren. I think the Haynes signing has some promise. He's definitely going to be more than cannon fodder in TC. Between he and Kenyon Coleman I expect the Jets to have a reasonable option at right end next season. Not a world-beater, but a reasonable player.
I wouldn't buy into him struggling to make the team-- he's a decent player, and he's young. They'll surely give him a fair shot at the 3-4.
But with the Bears selections, they still took Haynes and Grossman... Jets won that trade to my surprise...
