I thought you laid it on pretty thick considering that your source for Jarrett slipping was a couple of "mock drafts".

As my grandmother used to say "you are entitled to your own erroneous opinion".

Hey JetFanInPA, I am just wondering which position would have been better to fill for the Seahawks. I couldn't find many holes, but it seemed DT was a very lackluster position last year and most other positions were pretty solid.

Well with Stevens gone, a TE would have been wiser. A DE since Patrick Kerney is getting up there in age. With Ken Hamlin gone and Michael Boulware often injured, a safety could be a good choice, and I know just the one.

DT would be next on the list... It wasn't a bad pick.

Well I would have selected Ben Patrick, but he was taken, and I dont feel the next best TE is worth a 3rd rounder. Also although Kerney is 30 now, they just signed him to a huge contract so I am hoping they are not going to be looking for a DE with their 2nd pick in the draft, considering they made a huge signing for one (And Mebane can play DE BTW). And safety I guess I could have gone, but I thought the combo of Boulware and Brian Russell was stronger than their DTs.

EDIT: Basically I just don't think it was as bad of a pick as some of the other picks that you rated a B-.

Seattle has: Rocky Bernard, Marcus Tubbs, Chuck Darby, Russell Davis and Craig Terril in their rotation. That's a very good mix of size, age and abilities. They have pass rushers and run stoppers, vets and younger players... I don't see any need for a DT.

    Plus 3 other younger DTs.

You almost make my point there. Rocky Bernard has mostly be an average starter throughout his career. He did have a very good year in 2005, but every other year he was just average/above average. Marcus Tubbs has been a pretty big dissapointment and injury prone since he was drafted in the 1st round 3 years ago. Darby was just bad last year as a starter, and is already 31, and all the other guys are basically no-names. I would say Bernard is their only OK starter right now. There is DEFINITELY a need with Tubbs being hurt all the time. Russell and Boulware are pretty solid safeties and the other positions you said as a need, there was not really a player that was 3rd-round worthy to draft. For me, it came down to DT and S and I thought their pair of safeties was more solid that their pair of DT's. But, it is not my team, so no more arguing for me, unless it comes down to Dallas or Pittsburgh.

Hey, JFIPA, are you gonna do the top 3 drafts and picks and stuff when the 3rd round ends?

Also, as for the Alama Francis pick, I just figured that the Cowboys would not get any starters there anymore, and I filled all their other positions of need, so might as well get a player at the position that will get the most time on the field, which is a DE because they switch them in and out constantly. The Cowboys only loss this off-season was Coleman, so there were not any other holes in the roster, and he was a huge steal. Well there is a whole at kicker, but that is something that you don't get in the 3rd round, probably 4th round.

    Round 4

    96. Oakland: Tim Shaw DE/OLB: I love this pick. Personally, I think there's a very good chance we draft this guy with one of our 2nd rounders. Was a sack artist at PSU and can play DE or OLB. Great value for Oakland and will help out somewhere. A

    97. Detroit: Antwan Barnes OLB: I like this one too. Potentially an OLB in the 3-4. Sort of similar player to Tim Shaw because he was a pass rushing specialist as an OLB. Nice pick. A-

    98. Tamp Bay: Troy Smith QB: Interesting choice. The Bucs are stacked at QB as they have an older vet in Garcia, a younger vet in Chris Simms and a younger player in Gradkowski. Solid value, but will have a tough time making the roster as the 3rd QB in Tampa. B

    99. Cleveland: Kenny Irons RB: Outstanding choice. Forms an excellent one-two punch with Jamal Lewis. This would have been a good pick for Cleveland in the 2nd round. Great all around back and is the steal of the draft thus far. Might be able to be a major contributor immediately. Here it is... A+

    100. San Francisco: Earl Everett OLB: Not much of a 3-4 OLB and there might have been better options, but not a bad choice I suppose. Solid player who has seen his draft stock fall over the off season. Solid pick here. B

    101. Arizona: Andy Alleman OG: Good prospect. I've heard great things about this guy from NFL Draft sites and members of this site. The Cards' need as much help on the offensive lineman as they can get even in terms of just depth, which is what Alleman will at least provide. A-

    102. Minnesota: Courtney Taylor WR: Solid pick here. The Vikings could always use more recievers. Good value too... A-

    103. Houston: John Wendling S: Nice pick. He's definately a sleeper and a steal this late. Great value and fills a need. A

    104. Miami: Brian Robinson DE/OLB: Good pick who will play DE here. With the Dolphins entire defensive line aging, some youth is needed. A-

    105. Atlanta: Kyle Young OG/C: Looked like a decent pick... In light of his 5.7 forty time, which I just got word of, this pick looks worse. He has great size and versatility, but a 5.7 forty time is horrible for any position. B

    106. San Fransisco: Michael Coe CB: Good sleeper pick and a good value here. CB depth seems to be a need in San Fran, and that's what this is. A-

    107. Buffalo: Zak DeOssie LB: With London Fletcher departing, a potential starter is needed. I wouldn't count him in to start, but he'll play special teams and provide depth at the least for now. A-

    108. Green Bay: Josh Gattis S: The Pack' need a safety and this was the best available. Solid player who should be able to play SS or FS effectively. Nice pick. The Packer's draft is coming along very well. A-

    109. Jacksonville: Mason Crosby K: Nice value here.... The Jaguars really don't need a kicker, but he'll compete with Scobee and isn't likely to win the job. Not a great pick and there were better ways to go here. C+

    110. Cincinnati: Mkristo Bruce DE: Productive college player who might be a bit overrated. He might not ever be a starter, but he'll be a okay situational player and backup. B

    111. Tennessee: Tarrell Brown CB: This guy seems like he's flying under the radar and is currently overshadowed by his teamate and fellow CB Aaron Ross. This guy is pretty good anyway and could be a steal. Looks like a dime back and special teamer for now. A-

    112. NY Giants: Rhema McKnight WR: Decent pick for the Giants. McKnight has good size and solid speed and should be in the mix at WR maybe even this year... Not my top choice at WR however. B+

    113. St. Louis: Anthony Waters ILB: Decent pick for the Rams, who also selected a top LB in Patrick Willis earlier in the draft. He suffered a major injury this season and missed nearly all of 2006 and still isn't healthy. He could become a steal for the Rams if all goes well for him... A-

    114. Carolina: Chansi Stuckey WR: Speedy WR should find a spot in Carolina, which is looking for a slot WR to step up. With Keyshawn's career starting to come to a close, there is a potential opening there as well... Nice pick. A-

    115. Pittsburgh: Dwayne Wright RB: I like this pick... The Steelers took Cedric Humes late in the draft last year, but he's not on the team any longer. Willie Parker is probably not an every down back and this guy will take a few carries away from Najeh Davenport at some point. Good player and a good value. A

    116. Seattle: Scott Chander TE: Great steal this late for Seattle, which is in dire need of a TE with Mili and Stevens both gone. He'll even have the oppurtunity to start I believe. A

    117. Atlanta: Jay Moore DE/OLB: Interesting player. The Falcons need a DE or at least good depth at DE. Moore was probably the best true DE around and is a hard working, high effort player that should find a role, big or small. A-

    118. Dallas: Marcus Thomas DL: This thug has the talent to go in the 2nd round but the maturity to go on Day 2. If he can clean up his act, the Cowboys could have found a nice steal at DE. Didn't they just take a 3-4 DE in the previous round? This is overkill for a position that has plenty of depth already.C+

    119. New Orleans: Jacoby Jones WR: Great sleeper for the Saints who have found value in small school WRs (Colston and Horn). Good size and a good prospect whose major flaw is coming from a DII school... A-

    120. San Francisco: Tim Duckworth OG: Good choice for San Fran. Guards haven't been a hot topic in this draft, but Duckworth is a great value here and should become a top backup at the very least and possibly the heir at LG with Larry Allen almost done. A

    121. New Olreans: Quincy Black OLB: The Saints are always in the market for LBs. This guy has great speed and that alone might have gotten him drafted here. One of the better linebackers available here. A-

    122. New Orleans: Travarous Bain CB: Another good sleeper for the Saints from the DIAA school of Hampton. I don't have too much information on him, but the Saints got one of the better CBs available this late. Youth is a major need in the Saints' secondary. B+

    123. New England: Lorenzo Booker RB: Nice pick for the Pats'. Reminds me a bit of Leon Washington in a few aspects anyway. Should be a good change of pace back and not a whole lot else. Good player anyway. A-

    124. Tennessee: Marvin White S: Underrated player who put up some great numbers as a Safety at Texas Christian over the past two seasons. Could become a steal for the Titans and looks like a depth and situational player for now. A-

    125. San Diego: Mike Walker WR: This guy should have gone before a bunch of WRs in this draft. Has the size and certainly the timed speed. He had a monster year in 2006 for Central Florida. The Chargers' recieving core is made of late round picks and undrafted guys. This guy will make a name for himself at some point... A

    126. Chicago: Kasey Studdard OG: Interesting selection here. Solid prospect from what I hear, but there were a couple of better guards around. The Bears needed some offensive line help and they got a form of it here. B

    127. Indianapolis: David Clowney WR: The Colts certainly need a WR and could have opted for one earlier with absolutely no depth. Good player who will end up taking on the slot role in Indy. They probably should target another WR later on as well. B+

Don't be upset over my grade... It's just one guy's opinion. I'm just not a fan of Paul Williams. He wasn't productive at all in college and ran 2 losuy 40 times at his pro-day.

Nope, I got a failing grade early with my Tony Hunt pick.

It's all good. I like the opinions and feedback. Gives you something to think about.

A lot were. There haven't been too many bad picks. I've given out a few D's and a few C's. If I got harsh, people will complain.

Yeah I'll get going soon... I've been out for a while. It's tough to grade mid/late round picks.

Marcus Thomas was drafted as a NT/DT/DE. Meaning he can play all of them. When they go to a 4-3, he can be a pass-rushing DT that Ferguson isn't. He is 320 pounds with speed, so he would be able to play either NT or DE in a 4-3 and be fine at either position. Which is why he is so valuable. As a 2nd round talent, getting someone who can play all over the Dallas defensive line in any scheme is amazing. I did not draft him as a DE, more of a 4-3 DT or 3-4 NT, where Ferguson is getting old.

This guy is no 3-4 NT.... http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/dt/marcusthomas.html

You should have went for Paul Solai or Keith Jackson if you're looking for a NT...
