-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #25. Aaron Ross: he can come in and start right away and will be the best CB on the board at this point i would rather have revis but i doubt he falls to #25. Ross has Great size and Bulk and has great ball skills. he is good in coverage and a good against the run and is a good tackler. This is just what this defense needs to take it to the next level. #59. Lamarr Woodley: he would be a steal at this spot. he was a good DE at Michigan. over his career at michigan he recorded 23 sacks and 48.5 TFL in four year. he is a great perospect for a 3-4 OLB and he seems like he would fit the Defense like a glove (other possibilities: Victor Abiamiri) #63. Manuel Ramirez: he is a road grader OG and that is what this O-Line is lacking. with him startin over brandon moore at RG i think Clement wont have to cover for Moore anymore because at 6-3 326 i think Ramirez can hold his own. #89. Ikaika Alama Francis: Just because we signed Coleman doesnt mean we found our guy. Coleman may turn out to be a good solid RE or he could just be a one year wonder, we will have to wait and see. Francis would bring in good Depth and a rotational player. I think Coleman is still going to start for the most part and get 65% - 70% of the playing at RE and have Francis get 30% -35% (other possibilities at #89: Brandon Mebane) PLEASE COMMENT!
that draft would be amazing. only way i could debate the ross pick is if a top WR fell to us like meachem. otherwise, i love aaron ross and this draft is picture perfect. i like how you included ramirez in the late 2nd rd pick because no way he lasts till our 3rd rd pick.
I love it, but do you think Ikaika will still be there at 89? Hasn't his stock risen to a late 2nd early 3rd?
Well I would like to take an OL sooner. And I don't think there is a need for more depth at DE with Kimo, Hamilton, Coleman, and Ellis. And even if Coleman is a "one year wonder" he is going to be around for a while considering they signed him to a 5 year 20 million dollar contract. Rather see them draft a WR, DT, FB, or TE at that spot for depth.
1. This won't be your final mock draft and you know it... Didn't you just post one yesterday? 2. Ikiaka won't be there that late. 3. Good draft though.... 4. "fit the defense like a glove"... Good one...... (Insert OJ joke here)
well find out when when my next jets pick comes up... i still like my draft better thus far, but its we are drafting for the same needs, just in a different order, so very close IMO so far: 1. Justin Blalock, OT/OG, Texas 2. LaMarr Woodley, OLB/DE, Michigan 3. Eric Wright, CB, UNLV
well since he got hurt awhile back it hurt his stock and didnt really get to perform so some teams may not want to take a risk on taking him
I like it but I don't see Francis there at the end of round 3. My guy would be Doug Free, the OT from Northern Illinois. I too would prefer Revis in round 1 but Ross would be a nice fit. Overall I don't think you'd get too many complaints if that's how things shook up.
Why pick O-line earlier dabrowk? Second rounds pretty damn high. Beyond that, I'm not a huge fan of this years first round CBs. To me Houston is the best of all of them, and then McCauley and Revis right after. But IMO the best CB (value-wise, I like Houston as the best) in this whole draft is Eric Wright, by quite a bit. He's been praised pretty highly by USC fans, and the off the field issues he had in his past seem to be really in his past now. As far as Woodley, I like him a good amount, but theres still something in the back of mind saying "we could do better" with him. Maybe its just me looking for the bigger, faster guy. He'll be a good pro, but I like guys like Brian Robinson, Abiamiri, and Spencer quite a bit more.
Never understood the concept where one mock drafts someone lower where he think the player will be taken, and then call it a steal.
Eric Wright won't last until the third round, he ran in the 4.3's at the combine, plus he's got character issues...
but WR isnt really that big of a need we can get a wr for depth in the 4-5 round and draft a WR in round 1 in 08 if we decide to kick coles to the curb because tangini gets tired of his bitching
why draft some number 4 reciever now when we could get a prime talent to start grooming NOW. i mean if your gonna claim its not a need then say we jump on it 1st rd next year it obviously is. people like I who believe WR is a need, believe that Coles will join the Chrebet Concussion club in about 2-3 yrs. takes about 3 yrs for WR's to pan out. start now. otherwise who else do we have? smith (just learning the position) McCareins (enough said) and Tim Dwight (seriously?) not to mention putting coles/cotchery/meachem/smith on the field would be downright nasty. especially considering the D still has to pay attention to jones or washington.
Yeah, and then an offense with WR's like Wes Welker and Donte Stallworth will turn around and do the same things against us because we can't generate pass rush and our secondary isn't exactly stellar.
What about a TE like Greg Olsen guys like that dont come around often specially in back to back years like they did with Vernon Davis then Greg Olsen. Im my opinion when you come out of The U you have a certain type of swag about you. A little chip on you shoulder and if you look at our offense from every position thats what were lacking a guy whose just mean. Some may say im assuming here but majority of the players that come out of Miami are cocky and we need that on offense.
#25. Aaron Ross: He would be a nice addition but I just dont see us taking a corner this high. Mangini is notorious for taking low-round corners and turning them into great players. Cough, Asante Samuel, Cough. Look for us to go O-Line or LB with this pick. They claim they'll take BPA but I think they'll take the BPA at those positions. #59. Lamarr Woodley: He would be another great addition but I don't think he falls this far. Like you said "He'd be a steal" that usually means you're dreaming to get him there. With this pick, I'm looking for either an O-Line (if we dont take it in Rd1) or a DE. I think we should look at Quentin Moses with this pick. #63. Manuel Ramirez: He very well could fall this far in which case picks 1 and 2 are void. I do think he won't get this far. Assuming he wont, I'd have to say we go for Ben Patrick out of Delaware with this pick. Beef up our offense cause lets face it, it ain't perfect. #89. Ikaika Alama Francis: I REALLY like Francis with this pick. Although I think they might go for a safety like SABBY (comon, his name is SABBY) or Eric Weddle out of Utah -- this kid is AMAZING. Safety can probably wait till day 2... but something tells me they probably wont wait.
