this is gonna decide where he goes. He did no workouts and had poor showings in his last two games. He has a ton of potential with his natural pass rushing ability. The one thing that is probably most important to watch is his 40 time. We already know he is a big guy for OLB (around 270) and he has the ability to shed blocks. His speed is what is a concern.

If he has a very good workout, I wouldn't be suprised if we pick him up with our 1st rounder, he has it all if he puts up impressive numbers.......stay tuned.......

From a Michigan Wolverine Message board:

    http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb...id=621018&lid=3

"After pulling out of the Senior Bowl then not working out at the combine, the early results for LaMarr Woodley are promising.

Sources at the workout in Ann Arbor have told us Woodley's 40-times have ranged between 4.71 and 4.77 seconds. On his second run Woodley tripped or he would've gotten under the 4.70 mark.

Earlier in the day Woodley was impressive. After weighing in at 265-pounds he completed 29 repetitions on the bench and posted an outstanding 38.5-inch vertical jump."

He would be a solid pick with either of our 2nd round picks but if he keeps this up he won't make it that far.

I really wouldn't mind using our first rounder on him. I think he's going to be a very good player in the NFL and I really hope we get him. I'm not entirely sure why his stock ever dropped him out of the 1st, but I could see him getting back there.

I was not that high on Woodley for a while, but in the late second I would love to add him.

Don't forget that Jom Herrmann was hos coach for 3 seasons, and probably knows him better than anyone. Don't think Sutton would have been there in person if Herrmann had bad things to say.

I can see him getting drafted by NE with one of their 1st rounders. That is if they don't trade up.

I don't know. I hated the Hobson pick and I'm a big Wolverines fan. He was just too slow to be an impact NFL linebacker.

I watched Woodley play a lot last season and he looks like a bigger version of Hobson. He's a bit slow but he's massive. I suppose I could see taking him to play strongside outside or inside next to Vilma. I don't really see him being the kind of flex player that does particularly well in a 3-4 though.

What people don't realize about Hobson is that his combine time was really inconsistent with his short shuttle and 3 cone times. This guy put up some of the best times in those drills for his position, and then showed a markedly better 40, and he was still labeled as extremely slow. Hobson had put on a good amount of weight when he showed up to the Combine and that probably had something to do with it. In any event, his ability to shed blocks and his tackling set him apart.

I'd look into Woodley, because I don't think there's a right tackle that's going to fill our needs available.

Dont get me wrong.I Like Hobson. Dont label me among the Haters, I just question if it is wise to have two guys filling the same bill...
