And Jasonjets, if you send a list then the person you sent the list to is going to be expected to make the pick. In the future if you don't want that person to pick past your first choice, then only send on player on the list. Though, it would be kind of annoying for the rest of us who are trying to keep this thing moving along. Like it wouldn't have been fair to Jabba if we had your pick, but couldn't make it and he had to leave before you got here. As for Penny's pick coming up, what do you all want to do? He missed his first pick, so based on the rules I set up anyone would be able to make that pick for the Giants before penny does. I'll give him 2 hours, if he doesnt show then I'll pick for him. Oh, and PA's up. Also, WW you said Panthers in the pick thread for the Jags pick.
Well it was unfair to me. I told everyone on here that if the pick is picked past 11:00, I would be home in time to make my pick, so I think I should have the right to pick within my 4 hour time limit, if I tell eveyrone when I will be back, and that I have time to make my pick. That is following the rules, and it was unfair to me, not Jabba, because I did not get to choose the guy I wanted (even though it ended up being the guy I wanted). I am just saying, this time it was fine because I got the guy I wanted, but in the future I would expect that you all would respect my wishes to be able to pick for myself, and trust that I would be back when I say I will be back.
Then don't send out a list, though I have to say that's being fairly selfish. A number of other GMs were able to put together lists for their picks, I myself sent out a list, I didn't get the first guy on there, but because it was a list I got the player I wanted 2nd most. WW actually editted Rhodes time on the clock to give you a chance to be here, but it wasn't at all feasible to wait on you when we want to keep this moving.
Well I did send out a list, I was not being selfish. I didn't really have a guy I wanted 2nd most. I knew I wanted Hall the most, and then after that it was somewhat of a crapshoot. The rules say you have 4 hours to make a pick, well I would have made a pick in 4 hours, that is all I am saying. If i say I am gonna make a pick on time, I will. I was following the rules, not holding up the draft. If I had taken more than 4 hours, I would be holding it up.

It's not all about the 4 Hours, perhaps you should read the rules again, the 4 Hours are only there to allow GM's the maximum time in case they are suddenly and unexpectedly detained, but it's not a vessel to hold up the draft when you know in advance that you will not be back by a certain time In my mock draft I boot GM's who do that intentionally, who intentionally abuse their 4 Hrs .. we call them habitual 4 HR Men, and we give them the boot, because they slow down the draft and everybody suffers, when it could have been prevented, because they know they won't be available, so all they need to do is send someone a list and ask them to MAKE THE PICK if I'm not back by the time my team goes on the clock Why should you do that? Out of consideration for others, for everyone else, and isn't that a good enough reason? Just to be clear, you did the right thing, I COMMEND YOU FOR IT, none of this applies to you because YOU DID send someone a list when you knew you might be unvavailable .. I WOULD NEVER BOOT SOMEONE LIKE YOU OUT OF MY MOCK DRAFT .. but if we can't make the pick anyway, if you send someone a list and then say don't make the pick when I go on the clock, that's where it defeats the purpose, all of the RIGHT THINGS you did becomes moot .. what good is it if someone has your pick if he can't submit it? I understand that you only wanted him to hold it for an added hour, and not four, BUT WHY, why should we hold up the draft for another hour if the #1 PLAYER on your list is available .. does that make any sense, and is it fair? I can definitely see your point if you say I'm sending someone a list, if my #1 GUY is available he can make the pick when I go on the clock {if I'm not back when I go on the clock}, but if my #1 GUY is taken I would rather you wait till I return, and only use my fallback if time expires If you say that, I'M FINE WITH THAT .. but if you say my #1 GUY is available and I still want you all to wait till I return, well I have to agree with GH, IMO that is a little selfish .. and if you really think about, if you consider the draft as a whole, I think you might see it the same way Again .. #1 GUY is available, make the pick .. #1 GUY is Gone, wait till I return or pull the trigger on my second guy if I don't get back in time .. isn't that fair? Well if you think that's fair, then this conversation is moot .. that's all he did .. your #1 GUY was available and he took him
Jabba, I have said it is fine THIS TIME. Because like you said, I got the #1 guy I wanted, so it is all good. But in the future, if I ask that you guys wait for me to pick, and I will be back on time, that I am able to pick for myself. It was fine this time, I got my guy, but just for the future, I would appreciate it if I could have a decision in my pick if I tell you that I will be back in time. I agree with this:
That's cool Jason, I understand where you're coming from, I'm a lot like you, if my #1 GUY is Gone I'd rather have a chance to scan the board and carefully consider the alternatives .. I'll probably use my #2 GUY anyway, but I'd rather have a chance to carefully consider it .. maybe I'll reconsider and maybe I won't, but I would like to have that chance So I know exactly where you're coming from and I agree .. that's why I offered that solution {#1 GUY, make the pick when I Go OTC .. #2 GUY or beyond, only make the pick if time expires before I return} .. cause I do the same thing! :grin: That's what I tell people when I PM them my list :up: I lock in on the Guy I want the most, then I offer a list of alternatives if time expires But if I KNOW I won't be back, then I tell him to just pull the trigger on my highest rated player when I go on the clock
Absolutely fine with me for taking over the teams. New Orleans and Carolina. EDIT: Rhodes 25 apologizes so maybe we can split teams up with both of us taking 1 or we take turns making picks. Like he makes Rd.2, Rd.4 for Carolina, and Rd.1, Rd.3 for New Orleans while I get Carolina rd.1, rd.3 and New Orleans Rd.2, Rd.4 etc. Shit happens and it would suck for Rhodes 25 IMO.
anyone be willing to call me when my pick is here..im leavign for work in less then 30 minutes and i wont have access to a comp, and id like to hear what the last 2 picks were so i can make my informed decision... i know we all want the best for the jets!!
