100% agree, I would've done the same thing If I had the Raiders. I'm not really crazy about either QB anyway, especially Russell. Any team that passes on CJ is gonna live to regret it for the rest of his career.
I like Johnson, it also gives them freedom to get rid of Moss which would be a smart idea for a young coach and a young team, get the disgruntled players out and build around that young defense, they need line help in the next few years before putting in a young QB, Carr is proof of that, pretty soon someone will say "Hut" and the poor guy will jump under a desk like its a bunker
If the draft went like this, what about trading Randy Moss for David Carr? That would be interesting.
Pretty happy getting Laron Landry there. That's a pretty good steal for the Falcons, who need some secondary help very badly. This means that Jimmy Williams stays at CB. I was considering CB Chris Houston or CB Leon Hall, but I couldn't pass this guy up.
Great Pick with Landry...he's a Top player on my board. I had to take the best player Available......Adrian Peterson. Not a major need with Frank Gore, but after Frank...RB is thin. Will be great Rb duo!! Unbelieveable that AD fell to #11.
Also, a lot of pro scouts said his pro day was the best they've ever seen out of a QB. If his head gets screwed on straight, say hello to the Pro Bowl.
that pick doesnt make sense to me, since gore is a rising star in the NFL...but since you had no choice to trade down ( which is what i would have done) but i wont make the same mistake of mentioning another name again... if you want to know who i would have picked...read my article from my site down below in my sig, mine is the 3rd article down
Reaching for players isn't something I would ever do, I draft BPA and value.............AP is too good of a player to pass up. Frank Gore is a one man Show...49ers have needs all across the board, this draft is still young. I can talk about players already drafted, and Landry would have been my first choice, but went at #10. The 2 Big Dts are gone, I would have loved for either Branch or Okoye to fall to the niners.
I just want to say, all you guys are doing a great Job...with your picks, comments and excitement on this draft. GH, has asked me to help him as much as possible...appreciate everyone's efforts.
Bad 49ers pick. I understand picking BPA, but they were a bad team last year, with really only 1 bright spot - the RB, Frank Gore. They have a lot of needs to still fill and you can tell, the way they were so aggresive in FA, they want to win again. Getting a backup is not gonna help them win. It will add to their running game, but so what? It won't add that much, it will just take away from Gore's production. HORRIBLE pick. They have plenty of need you could have addressed, and you should have addressed one of them with your 1st rounder, instead of drafting a backup.
I think in the real draft if Peterson starts to slip past the 5 spot, Buffalo will be calling every team after trying to get up for him. I'm happy with Lynch though, he is a notch below AP but a couple notches ahead of the next best RB.
It doesnt seem as if I am gonna get to my pick tonight, and I have school tomorrow until 3:00, so who can I trust to PM them and they will be home tomorrow to pick for me if my pick comes up and I am not here? EDIT: Also remember, if my pick starts at like 12:00, then dont pick for me because I will be home by 3:00 to get my pick on in time. But if my pick comes up before 11:00 I would appreciate it if you could choose the BPA that I will tell you for me.
We can agree to disagree............Who's the BPA at #11....AP hands down...it isn't even close. Reaching for a player and passing up the BPA is bad business. Frank Gore had a great year, is he a franchise back???? No one knows. AP IS A FRANCHISE BACK...AND NOT A BACK-UP. THE GMs that draft BPA...will be the most sucessfull.
Not to bad mouth a person's pick.......but I just proved my point about reaching..........IMO, Lynch was a reach at #12.
