If Meachem or Houston are available the Jets hit the lottery, unfortunately neither is likely to be there. As for the rest of the names, noone is very appealing to me, I hope Blaylock goes before so we are not tempted to take another OL in the first round. We can get good OL prospects into the third round, no need to spend another first round. I would love it if Bowe is available but that is probably unlikely as well.

Olsen has a good shot at being a terrific player in the league with his natural ability, and you're totally right WW, some team will take him before they should because of what he did at the combine.

And I have to imagine that there's a chance one of the big 5 Wideouts is going to be there when we pick at #25, the question is do we take whoever that is? Jarrett top 4, Meachem 7-early teens, Ginn same, Jarrett late teens, Bowe early 20s is the way I think it will probably go, but WRs never go in logical order.

Also, at this point I'm really starting to think that the best option for the team is to trade #25 for an early 2nd and 3rd rounder to some team that sees a player they like. Then we'll have 5 first day picks and can pretty much do whatever we wantedI also would not at all be opposed to trading 25 for a 2nd and 4th, along with a 2nd from next year.

Trading out of rd 1 is an option, doing it before we are OTC is a big gamble. I know, it's difficult to trade while your OTC, but I believe Tanny, who is very organized, gets some trading partners lined-up and is on the phone with these Gms when the 25th pick is up...it can be done. Bradway traded out of Rd 1 , two years ago, too early and showed his hand too soon.

I'd love to get back a 4th rd pick. Round 4 is a critical round, you have overnight to evauluate the players not selected in day 1.

I really do hope that we continue to strenthen the O line.Grubbs and or Blalock will be great with our first two picks, whether or not we trade down from 25.If we can build a stronger line for Thomas Jones and Co to run behind and make the line protect Penny, why wouldnt I love that? The WR position can be addressed later, I doubt we will get a great nose tackle in the first two rounds.Barring that I say we address our second most glaring need, the O line.

If Houston is there and we don't take him, I'm putting the remote thru the tv.

Oh yeah, no question WW, no deal until we're on the clock. I agree with what you said completely, I'm comfortable with Tanny in that he'll have something set up so there's no rushing into a bad deal if that time arises.

Blalock, by far, CB is deep this year, so is WR, If we went Houston who would be my second choice I would want Ramirez

Meachem to me is the second WR in this draft, and if he's there we take him.

Otherwise, I would take Blalock. Thing is, his best fit is at G at the pro level, and I think like Ramirez and Grubbs a bit better than him as a prospect. Ramirez is going to be a beaaaast.

No Jet fan over 25 years would have the guts to even put a TE on a list of potential first round picks. I would be shocked if the Jets ever draft a TE in the first round again. Talk about a waste of a pick. You might as well draft a punter in the first round as a TE. Plus, TE is not an area of great need with Baker on the roster. The impact a TE has on the game compared to OL or DL combined with the predict success at this position in the NFL based upon college performance means stay away from TE.

Its so nice to read a post like this witout having to watch it be flammed by PatsfanTX. And I'm all for building the trenches, I believe that is the difference right now between being the wild card team that we are and being a team that can realistically compete for a champioship.

i hate how draft stuff gets moved now. it should be here, since its good offseason stuff about the jets. i could see just bringing up "who will go first" and moving it, but this? come on mods....

tyler and timmonds are both too small for our system, it is tought to take a guard so high. i voted for hughes.

It seems so logical doesn't it? How the hell can someone want a TE over offesnive/defensive line help and a cornerback? It makes no sense at all.

If Chris Houston is there, we have to take him. I'd even like to get Darrelle Revis, Leon Hall or Aaron Ross. Which ever one is there would be fine by me.

If not a CB, it has to be Justin Blalock.

    cb

i would say we need a cb, but if Robert Meacham is there at 25 i would like to see him in a green and white jersey next season.
