RICHIE GETS BUSTED Cardinals assistant Richie Anderson, considered a rising star in coaching circles, has been arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution. The arrest came as part of a sting operation in Phoenix. Anderson allegedly solicited an undercover officer. We assume the officer was a female, but nothing would surprise us at this point. Anderson, a former Jets assistant, was hired by the Cardinals in January. He spent thirteen seasons as a player with the Jets and the Cowboys. The entry page to the team's web site declares: "2007 Arizona Cardinals Football. Smart. Tough. Disciplined." It might already be time for a revision. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10050843 There goes his quick rise to the top. Do you guys think this ruins his rep enough to take his name out of consideration for a head coaching job?
WAY TO GO RICHIE!! by the way thats was our slogan "SMART, TOUGH, DISIPLINED" i got the shirt from 2000 training camp.. richie prob used it.
Hey along with the hookers ........... did they find any midgets? LOL, Maybe they let Richie Anderson go he was spending too much time doing research at hunts point.
as long as it was a woman, it will hold him back slightly. i wonder why RA trying to bag a dude wouldnt be a shock....the guy wanted a little stank on the hang low...cant fault him for that. im just not sure why anyone would angle for a hooker...especially when you have a lot to lose.
Embarrassing for him? Definitely... Embarassing for the Jets or Jets fans? Definitely not... As for his future head coaching... It may ruin all that.. . To think if he went to a bar instead, and "made it rain!" he could have had a chick for less.
that is absolutely ridiculous...why would you be embarrassed because he used to be a Jet and youre a Jet fan...? what does his off the field life have anything to do with nyjunc? perhaps as he was getting cuffed he was wondering to himself.."man, how am I gonna tell junc about this one"
I like the players I root for to be good people too, I know that's not always the case but Richie has a reputation as a good guy and to get arrsted like this embarrasses all associated w/ the NY Jets.
Hey, the guy wanted some ass...no strings attached...from the oldest profesion in the world...big freakin deal! Anyone who even covers their eyes for a minute is a fag. I really hope the powers that be don't miss out on a great coach just because he was horny and didn't want to waste his or a girl's time mackin the club scene.
I don't even view this as a big deal. People get pinched soliciting hookers all the damn time. He will move on and he was always reliable for our Jets so we shouldn't bash him for it.
Richie Anderson Fired Updated: March 12, 2007, 9:30 PM ET Anderson arrested in police prostitution sting Associated Press TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals fired wide receivers coach Richie Anderson on Monday, four days after his arrest in a police prostitution sting operation. Anderson, a fullback in the NFL for 13 seasons, was hired by new Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt in January. Anderson, 35, was arrested Thursday night on an accusation of soliciting an undercover Phoenix police officer posing as a prostitute. "I wanted a chance to review the details of the situation before making any decision," Whisenhunt said in a statement released by the team. "While it's disappointing, I've decided that this is clearly in the best interests of our team in this particular instance. Our focus is now on finding a replacement and I am confident we will be able to do that relatively soon." Anderson played for the New York and Dallas Cowboys before retiring after the 2005 season. He was a 2000 Pro Bowl selection while with the Jets and holds the team record for receptions by a running back at 305. He was assistant wide receivers and tight ends coach for the Jets last season.
