Shouldn't Russell and Quinn be 1 and 2?

Look at the top 3 teams, they ALL need a good QB. There's talk of Brady Quinn falling the way Leinart did....and I know he isn;t a prospect like Manning or Palmer, but come on, I mean, these teams are all brutal at QB. Who else are they going to take? It just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

Maybe one of them can get Drew Stanton in the early 2nd round....but all these teams need QBs so bad, I just can't imagine that they wouldn't be taking these guys right away.

i belive that both of them will go in the top 3. Maybe the top 2. It all depends on joe thomas. Whether the lions feel that OL is a bigger need to improve their offense as a whole is the big question. Now that the browns have signed jamal lewis i don't believe that they'll take Adrian Peterson. I mean the only other guy they MIGHT take would be alan branch to sure up their 3-4 line but i dont think that'll happen with their weak qb play. It's all about whether crennel feels that quinn can be successful behind their o-line or if they feel that branch is the better overall player. Odds are that the russell, quinn and thomas will occupy the top 3. I think a great draft for the browns or lions would be taking joe thomas in the first round and either drew stanton or troy smith in the second round, depending on who fits the system better.

Well with all the talk of the importance of a Franchise QB, someone to build around, I just figured they'd go realy early considering who is up there from 1-5

i think they should go 1 and 2, but i'm still a little surprised that the lions never showed up to quinn's pro-day. which means 1 of 3 things...they know the raiders are blowing smoke about russell and are going to end up taking quinn (i don't think the raiders are doing that though), they already know they're taking whoever's left between russell and quinn (a definite possibility with how their offseason has gone), or they just really don't like quinn (i can't see them skipping his pro day then just b/c of the trade value that would be there if they show a lot of interest)

i say it goes russell then quinn with 1 and 2

Or because this completely proves they dont know wtf they are doing when it comes it evaluatig prospects, selecting team needs, or picking players....

My god, they are horrible...I am no Quinn fan boy but I know as good as they next guy that the Lions are in desperate need of a QB and QUinn won't only be that guys he'll fill more seats....

As a Jets fan I dont care when theyre taken cuz we dont need and I dont want either....but having the same teams at the bottom of the league every year gets boring and pathetic

I think Quinn will go lower than CJ. He's falling on the draft board but will probably go between 4-7. I mean, no one ever talked about him bench pressing the same amount as 'machine' jay cutler

At the end of the day when the Draft is one or two days away, it's going to be quite evident that Russell and Quinn will be going 1 & 2.

The reason the lions are shying away from Quinn has more to do with the fact that they drafted Joey Harrington in the top and he was a complete bust and set them back years. The cap hit from screwing up a pick in the top 5 is killer. Combine that with the fact that now your team is awful and you have to go out and find a qb. So I think they just don't want a repeat of that. I think Quinn will be worth the pick, he's been well coached, he's smart, good arm but there will always be a high risk factor for qb's in the top 5. I think they best thing the Lions could do is trade down but in the end I think they take Thomas or Quinn.

I like Kevin Kolb more so than Brady Quinn. Maybe the Lions do, too. Maybe they'll draft Joe Thomas with the 2nd overall pick and hope that Kolb lasts till round 2.

That would be the SMART thing to do. But as we've learned Detriot rarely makes the smart draft move.

Calvin Johnson is going to be the #1 pick. I will be shocked if Davis passes on the true deep threat he covets so much. The Moss/Rodgers rumours attest to this. If this happens, and I am almost certain it will, the first round could get very interesting.

Detroit wants out of the #2 spot, but may not be able to get enough value to do so. It seems they do not want Quinn as they did not attend his pro day (could be a Denver/Cutler type smokescreen), and I am not so sure that they would take Russell, so they may play it safe and take Thomas anyway.

Cleveland vould very well take Russell or Quinn, but may decide that Adrian Peterson is the better long term choice for them.

Tampa, Arizona, and Washington are not taking QBs. With both Russell and Quinn on the board at this point, these picks could be very hot for a trade up from Miami or maybe Houston, but with both there they may gamble that one will fall to them anyway. Minnesota MIGHT take one of them, depending on what they think of Tavaris Jackson, but you could see Adams, Branch, and Anderson going 4,5 and 6 leaving both there at 7 for Minnesota.

I think that Minnesota might swap at this point with Houston or Miami.

So you could very well sell Russell and Quinn go 7 and 8 in the upcoming draft.

The Lions learned that without an oline your QB will likely fail, or it will repeat exactly what they did with Joey Harrington
