After seeing Deion Grant now become a Seahawk to the tune of 6 year 30 Million ($11SB Bonus) I started thinking about where Kerry stacks up against the top safeties in the league.

Those that I would put in his league are Ed Reed, Sean Jones, Brian Dawkins, and Adrian Wilson...but I'm interested to see where people would put Kerry overall?

I think Grant went to Seattle.. Yeah, I would say K-Rhodes is in that group, maybe add Polamalu in there too.

Kerry Rhodes is very good and improving.
He is not in the elite level yet with Ed Reed and Try Polomalu.

    Hopefully, he will be soon.

Rhodes is just behind Reed and Polomalu and will surpass them this year IMO

Can he develop his resume a little more before we starting putting him in the top echelon of Safeties? If can repeast last year with few more ints...then we can start to discuss he belongs there.

There was not a S better than Kerry last year, he needs to do it for a few years to get to thelevel of a Polamalu or a Reed but he's getting there.

haha the pro bowl is such a joke now...IMO rhodes has the potential to be that Ronnie Lott type of player cause he can cause a lot of problems blitzing and everything, is solid in both coverage and tackling skills. hes just as fast as ed reed and i think he has a better overall game than him. reed is great in cover but he doesnt have that rushing the QB ability rhodes has. I think rhodes will show that even more this year with more sacks and forced fumbles and being like Ronnie Lott and just take over a game. I hate how mainstream NFL people think hard hitters like Roy Williams and Sean Taylor and John Lynch are gods. Kerry Rhodes does so much more for this team too...and hes so young. Its going to be fun to watch him here for a long time.

If Rhodes was on one of the 'sexy' teams he would be all over the glossies and pro-bowel bound every year.

Man, I was thinking the same thing when I saw how much grant got paid...Looks like we're gonna have to offer rhodes at least 5 mil per year...man it would be nice to have a special "same team veteran" cap

I feel like we are going to set the bar with how Kerry has and will play next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he got more than Ed Reed with the way the cap will be next year.

I'm bookmarking this one, I have a feeling Jones is/ends up being a very very good safety.

My favorite part about the emergence of Kerry Rhodes?

I actually got it right when I said he was the best player we drafted in '05 (which isn't exactly hard anyway), and would end up a Pro-Bowl caliber player.

He's just below elite, but he'll be there soon enough. The only real significance with that is the money though.

Keep in mind Jones I believe had 8 picks last year, including 2? against us...

He did get some post-season accolades, including Dr. Z's All Pro Team. Injured his first year, and someone I would've loved for us to drafted a few years ago. He's only going to get better, probably the best defensive player on the Browns.

Go ahead. Nobody said he stinks, but he's not even close to Rhodes, Reed, Taylor, Wilson and Dawkins.

Actually he had 45 interceptions last season and he also scored 31 touchdowns.
