now lets start the predictions for thomas jones in 2007 im thinkin 2,309 yards and 36 touchdowns:jets:
thats what ive said. everyone is saying "it only cost us an earlier pick"....but it could end up costing much more than just that, it could end up costing something as valuable as the draft, vap space. yes, this year we are well under, but next year nobody will have as much space. if TJ signs for something reasonable, its a good deal. but if hes demanding elite RB money from us, i think that its a mistake to part with the higher choice and not have signed someone as a stop gap.
It's only going to cost about double the guaranteed money Houston gave Green but since it was a trade instead of a FA signing, it's a great deal.
Have we signed Jones yet? I know we had a 24 hour window to negotiate a contract, has this happened today as of yet? Has anyone heard if the deal is official?
Wasn't he asking for 15 million from the Bears? I'm betting the Jet's offer about 11-12 million for 4 years.
From Cimini's Blog 5 minutes ago Jones Deal is Done It’s official: Thomas Jones is a Jet. The Jets have announced a 4 o’clock conference call in which Jones will be introduced to the media. The former Bears running back, acquired yesterday in a trade, passed his physical today and signed a contract extension. Financial details weren’t immediately available, but the long-term deal is believed to have $12 million in guarantees. The parameters of the deal were basically agreed upon by last night. The Jets, filling their need for a No. 1 back, swapped second-round picks with the Bears. The Jets surrendered the highest of their two second-rounders (37th overall) and obtained Chicago’s second-rounder (63rd overall).
I this is not a fabulous ass deal, I'm not a jets fan!........Down right amazing! we get a better back than any on the radar, more proven than any in the draft! with high character, leadership ability, class, durability and bruising ability I cant say enough about how happy I am to be a jets fan. That pick if used in the draft or the 1st round pick #25 could not have brought in a player that can make any impact close to what Jones is capable of.
that doesnt sound gay i dont want him to wear it either id rather ahev him wear the one mosts rb's wear like its 2 bars but has the little bars going up like reggie bush
