He comes on the Afternoon Blitz in about 20 minutes, I bet he opens up with the Thomas trade. Interested to see how excited he gets, he can certainly act over the top sometimes...

"Jones' agent told me last night that the running back had a simple request after the Super Bowl: "Get me to New York."

Tannenbaum made it happen. And now the two are hammering out an extension (Jones is scheduled to be a free agent in 2008)."

    Veeeeery Niiiiice!!

Great read, thanks! Now do you think Jones wanted to go to New York because they had the "most money to throw at him" or because he wanted to join another winning team and compete for a starting job?

It's amazing that BEFORE the Mangini/Tannenbaum regime people didn't to play for the Jet's now people actually are REQUESTING to be a part of this organization, that speaks HIGHLY of our CS and FO.

It said New York, not the Jets. We both needed RBs and Jones wanted out.

Well if he said New York than he must have meant the Bills since they are the only team that plays in NY..

We went from being an organization that people avoided, to one that is sought after. With this acquisition, other free agents may think we have a legitimate run, and may opt to choose us over other teams...

You now what's funny, last year we were talking about Tannenbaum bullying the Falcons into essentially giving up a first rounder for Abraham, now this offseason the feeling is he pretty much pick-pocketed the Bears for their RB. One thing is for sure, the guy means business when he sees what he wants.

I like this trade, but isn't his agent Drew Rosenhaus?

He would tell a one legged toothless wart faced hooker she is the second coming of Jessica Alba and she would believe it. The guy can sell ice to eskimos, I would not believe anything he says.
