Unless we can't get him signed to a deal there is no reason to not like this deal.

No question. Great trade. Moving from the top of the 2nd round to the bottom, and getting a good, proven RB in the process... awesome move.

I think it was an amazing call. We got the RB that we can work our RBBC approach around, and for a very good price. He has come into his own the last two years, and he will contribute for us for the next 2-4 years. He is the perfect compiment to, Neon Leon. What more can you ask for?

Tiki was an allstar for the Giants, and Jones is in the almost exact same breakout mode that Tiki was in.

    Good call Mangini & Co.

There is something wrong with anyone who doesn't think this was a good trade for the Jets.

I like the trade, we didn't lose anything but spots on a pick that didn't belong to us in the beginning and we got a 1000 yard back.

I haven't had time to check the zillion posts so I'm sure this has been mentioned but I went on the Chicago Bears message board and they definitely think the Jets are guilty of sodomy. This is awesome

I think it's a great trade. I mean we got a guy for just a couple of spots on the draft board. You know what you are getting, rather then taking a chance on the draft, or for a unproven backup. Now if we could a little better run blocking I would be really stoked.

easssilly..... probably one of the best 2 FA backs available this year, and at that price its ridiculous. i dont think it would be a problem but i do hope that we do actually work out a deal.

Ha Ha 87-1 and the 1 is a Bears fan. What does that tell you about Jones?

A mediocre RB that cost us a great player in the draft...an old mediocre RB at that...

why should we be happy? We upgraded RB position by an inch.

 Are you crazy? This dude has just had another 1200 yd season. The best RB for the Bears since Payton. Those are pretty good credentials so far.
And as for value we have it. Outside of Perterson who MAY be a better RB than Thomas , we have a guarenteed 1st round calibre player and still have our 1st and 2nd rounders.
Whats not to like about this deal? He is not going to be a long term answear , but he will bring breathing space.

OK Nostradamus , how do you know which player that we are going to draft is going to be great?
