For those of you cracking up that the Jets have yet so sign someone, here's who is left in UFA - by position of need:

LB: Monty Beisel, Tommy Polley, Brandon Short, Shawn Barber, D.D. Lewis, Wali Ranier, Cato June, Tully Banta-Cain, Grant Irons, Donnie Edwards, Randall Godfrey

OL: Barrett Brooks, Cosey Coleman, Mike Gandy, Leonard Davis, Marc Columbo, Todd Wade

RB: TJ Duckett, Ahman Green, Daimon Shelton, Anthony Thomas, James Mungro, Dominic Rhodes, Chris Brown, Travis Henry, Corey Dillon

ok, I don't think I have to go any further position by position to prove to you knuckleheads that the FA pool is far from dry. If the Jet FO wants some of these guys and signs them, great!

    Stop the panic attacks, please!

    Thanks, GG

You know, I think Chris Brown is a pretty good HB.

Mike Gandy sounds good... He started for a while in Buffalo. I'd still like Marc Columbo also.

I don't think Hood is better than any option we have at #2 right now.

Ahaman Green just signed with the Texans, according to Adam Sheffter of NFL Network.

Mike Gandy was the worst player on that line.

You can list Free Agents till the cows come home (or till the Lions win a Super Bowl, your choice), but that list is already lacking in most of the top talent which has already been signed by other teams.

This is not a panic attack, it is simply an opinion. That opinion is that Free Agency is great for building depth like Chatham, Kassel and Poteat but you can also sign a starter or two if you like as well. No, lets not mortgage the franchise future on a Nate Clemens or Ad. Thomas for 10 Billion dollars but lets spend some cash this year and bring in at least one virtually guaranteed new starter (not of the Von Olhoffen caliber).

My ticket prices aren't going down and we have lots of cap space ... I wanna see some freakin upgrades in this rather pedestrian talent team.

Yeah I know ... 10-6. Not likely to happen again.

I agree with you. IMO the panic will set in when NE creams us two times next year. Then the philosophers here will understand why we need top talent at least in a few positions. NE gets it; we don't! No panic, just reality!

    true.

but any way you slice it, we need CB depth. so why not sign Hood AND draft a CB. training camp will be when the CB's (Miller/draft pick/Hood/etc) battle it out for the other starting spot opposite Dyson.

at this point in FA, we're not going to find anyone who's a major upgrade over what we have. but we need depth.

    cheers

    so let's see-

If the Jets sign TJ Duckett, Mike Gandy and Donnie Edwards, then FA is a total loss?

Wake up people, the sky is not falling, the world isn't coming to an end...
