That was just an example. Bal was 1st in PA and YA this year, who was better? manning couldn't even lead his team to a TD against them. He led Indy to 35 in the 2nd half against NE? Did the last Indy win over bal count twice? That was Manning's 1st playoff win over baltimore. and stop w/ the insults, just respond w/ your fatcs and opinion and we'll discuss it. By the way, reports are that Thomas got $20 mil in guaranteed money. That's an insane amount for a GOOD not great player.
I agree he is way over paid that was not my argument however. LOL disussing facts and have you make 50 posts because you do not agree is not something I am interested in. It is not an insult. You are completely obtuse. It is fact. You have never agreed with a dissenting opinion that I am aware of......... Until such time that is my label for you. enjoy.
I honestly don't know who you are but apparently you are a fan of my posting. I do get involved in back and forth discussions, I post my thoughts and others post theirs. i then post my argument as to why I think I am right and it's a give and take. Again, enough w/ the insults. if you can't be an adult then don't get invovled in discussions. Please explain to me again how the Pats D is better than the Ravens D?
Links please? "Reports" do not mean much. If the deal in an undisclosed amount, how do you have insider info? "Reports" had the jets trading Vilma. The Boston globe has the number between 15 and 20. The local media says closer to 15 then 20. This was as of 15 min ago. I myself heard it was around 17, but that is speculation.
Just to be clear I am not a fan. I had you on ignore, because of all the free gency stuff I took you off of ignore. My response to the above. You broadened it to the whole defense. Not my argument, please read my response! You are clearly wrong.
The Ravens didn't even come close to beating the Colts in their house in a winter game on grass. Does Jeter gun the ball to first base when a fat catcher who can't run hits a ground ball to him?
Did anyone see Adam Schefters round up last week , he all but guarenteed that the Jets would sign Thomas , the Patriots promptly went and did it. Sounds like the Jets are putting some spin out , bit like big game fishing. Back on NFL.com today , there are player links to nearly every team...except the Jets who announced the departure of QB Ramsey. All quiet on the eastern front....for now. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10033511
http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Well that clears it up Bal plays on Field Turf not grass, the same surface as Indy plays on in the dome. They held manning & Co. to 15 points, Bal's O cost them that game. Brady led his O to 27 points but the D gave up 38.
Thank you! Just go back to enjoying my posts and don't bother responding unless you can come up w/ some valid reasoning.
It was raining in Baltimore during that game. Isn't amazing how shoot out games in the NFL lead to big points especially in domes and games that are played close to the vest don't have high scoring. In this case the Colts blew out the Ravens in a game that points were unnecessary but the fear of Manning opened up the running game but in the NE game where the Pats O was wide open the Pats D got on their heels a little and a close game had points all over the place. Kind of like the Jets the first time against NE after the game was out of hand the Pats D relaxed and the Jets scored points. The difference is Manning is so much better than Pennington and on the fast inside track at home the pressure was just enough to pull out the win. Didn't Harrison miss the Colts game? The Pats secondary was pretty weak this year without him.
The Jets were down 24-0 int he 1st Pats game, how is that relevant in a game that was a 6 point game until late in the 4th qtr? The fear of manning opened up the running game? Rhodes had 56 yds on 14 carries which is good and Addai had 39 yds on 18 carries which is not good. In ttoal they ran it 32 times for 95 yds(3 YPC). yeah the fear of manning really opened up the ground game. manning was his usual big game self w/ 2 INts BUT the Bal O couldn't do a thing and McNair had 2 INts of his own and Bal had 2 more fumbles. yes they palyed w/o Harrison but they played w/o Harrison in holding the Jets to 16 points, they played w/o Harrison in holding SD to 21 and they played w/o harrison in the 1st half of the Indy game where they held Indy to 3 points. by the way, KC played at Indy in the WC rd and held Indy to 23 points. What happened there? That game wasn't outside in cold conditions.
It was raining in the Super Bowl much harder than it was in baltimore and the SB was played on grass and they were playing a top Defense and yet that didn't stop Indy's O.
They dominated TOP, they ran 20% more offensive plays they completly controlled the game in the second half on the road against the best Defensive team in football. Baltimore never threatend in the second half it was effectively a blow out. The Jets O is not Baltimores Junc and Pennington and Rivers are not close to Manning. Harrison is one of the best safties in the NFL. Think of the Jets secondary without Rhodes. When the front 7 got tired the secondary was totally exploited. The indoor fast track was a key to the track meet that the Colts laid on the Pats and was a key reason for the win. The Pats were gassed up front and the back 7 simply lacked the speed to keep up once Manning was able to set up. What happend their? KC was completely outclassed in that game Junc primarily because Herm was completely out coached. Manning literally had to do nothing in that game to win and he did do nothing and they won.
They dominated TOP? Indy had the ball 31 mins, Bal had it almost 29 mins. They ranb 20% more plays b/c they were forcing the run, they average UNDER 3 YPC on the ground but they ran it 35 times. Baltimore never threatened? Down 12-6 in the 4th qtr at the Indy 39 isn't threatening? Bal had TWO possessions in the 4th qtr down just 6 points, they had chances they just didn't get it done. They didn't need him in the 1st half when they held Indy to 3 points but he was needed in the 2nd half when they gave up 35? and yet w/ KC completely outclassed and outcoached thye only gave up 23 points on the same field NE gave up 38. SD had the HIGHEST scoring offense in the league this year, Indy was THIRD. Manning had a history of choking in Januay and he hadn't played well against KC or Baltimore. SD averaged 31 PPG at home this year, NE held them to 21. Indy averaged 28 PPG at home this year, NE gave up 38.
And your point is what? Sd scored over their average 7 times this year and under their average 9 times, IND split 8 and 8. Winning teams average more scoring on O and less scoring on D than their opponents overall but games are not won and lost on the average they play out.
The point is SD scored 10 points LESS than their average at jhome while Indy scored 10 points MORE than their average at home. You keep making excuses about Indy playing at home yet KC only allowed 23, NE allowed 35 2nd half points.
What Junc didn't you just argue that NE D stinks when they held SD to 10 points less than their average. Could it be that Manning had a great game against NE? Just so I'm clear on the Junc argument this is what I believe you have argued? The NE D stinks, Harrison is irrelevant, they didn't get better by adding Thomas bacause souronded by the crap on the NE D he will be made irrelevant. Manning is a choker who sucked during the playoffs but won because the NE D stinks, Balitmore's O choked, Manning sucked against the Chiefs but some how the Colts won anyway even though the Chiefs have a great HC and Manning sucked.
Where did I say the Pats D stinks? this goes back to that other poster saying NE had a better D than Baltimore which was incorrect as I have proven. The point was Baltimore has 2 HOF players on their D and he is surrounded by aamzing talent, in NE they don't have that. They still have good players especially up front but they are getting old everywhere else and he'll be a guy opposing O's lok to take out of a game rather than being the 4th guy. We got similar production out of Bryan Thomas last year at a fraction of the cost. I am glad we didn't break the bank to sign this guy and I am thrilled NE is taking a new approach to FA.
Junc, you haven't proven anything you have an opinion just like everyone else. I willing to bet that NE will have as many HOF players from their D as Baltimore does.
