    David Bowens-DL- Dolphins Mar. 3 - 11:36 am et

The Jets are set to meet with free agent DE David Bowens on Sunday.

Miami has shown no interest in retaining Bowens, a reserve last season. We suspect the 6-3/265-pounder would play linebacker in New York.

Interesting, though I was never blown away by him. Perhaps he could morph into a another Bryan Thomas.

It makes a lot of sense. This is a "depth" move. Barton is being shopped or released and Vilma will probably be used as a chip to move up to the 13-20 range. I think the Jets are going to draft their way to a dominant D. This is what I see (or hope).

Jets trading w/ Jacksonville or another 4-3 team for Vilma to move up and grab Jarvis Moss

Drafting ILB & DE like David Harris & Justin Harrell in round 2

  8. I'm sorry but our defense's emotional leader, quarterback, best coverage linebacker and team icon for a spot in the draft that only lands us Jarvis Moss just sounds like an awful move to me.

I agree, this would be the dumbest move hands down.

Jarvis Moss would have an immediate impact on the defense. 3-4 Linebackers need to be 250+. They need to clog holes. Love Vilma he just doesn't fit the system He is 230 lbs.

By using that logic why would any one draft a prospect then? They can all be busts

And how do we know Vilma can sustain his ability? He has played 3 years 1 year was good, the next was great and this past year was pedestrian.
