I was concerned about NE switching gears this year, getting aggressive with their money, and it looks like it's happening. According to Adam Schecter of the NFL Network, the NE Patriots are out to make a big splash in free agency. I think Kraft is fed up (the spoiled little brat) with not making the Super Bowl 2 years in a row -- hence the franchising of Assante Samuel -- and he's determined to do whatever he has to this year. Adalias Thomas going to NE is a nightmare
I hope he signs a huge deal w/ NE. I like them getting away from the winning philosophy much the way the yankees did at the end of their latest dynasty. Let NE make the FA mistakes for a change.
We have to get involved and I would be shocked if we didnt. Theres no way we can let this guy sign in NE.
Im pretty sure Chad will be able to throw his darts 30 yards down the field even with Thomas in his face
Thanks, I heard the Jackie puppet today on the show so it gave me the idea but the gary puppet was funnier looking. i miss both puppets:rofl2:
Remember when the Gary puppet was kidnapped? That was hilarious! I used to love the Stern show. I don't listen anymore.
Yeah that was great. It definitely was alot better back then, the show misses jackie but it is alot better now than at the end of the K-Rock days plus a friend of mine is a frequent caller and Howard has given him his own show a few times on sirius.
I'm with you on this one. It'd suck to see them win 12 or 13 games for another year or two but it'd be really nice to see them start graying.
The cap is going to keep increasing every year of this new collective bargaining agreement. Signing one guy like Thomas is not gonna hamper NE in the future.. Anyone who thinks NE signing Thomas is a good thing is crazy.. The talent gap that we were closing a little just got a hell of alot wider..
It'sd not always just the cap # but what about all thoe NE players that took lesser deals or how they see the mgmt treating core championship players? Those guys are going to be angry that they are now giving out big $ FA deals. NE has won alot b/c they are such a great TEAM- they aren't a bunch of individuals. You start adding high priced FAs and that changes everything. They may wind up being more talented but they will be less of a team.
Those players still want to win & win only. Bringing in ONE guy that helps them get back to & win a SB won't change anything. Now I could see your point if NE totally shifted gears and went the SF route & start to sign multiple guys to obscene contracts, I don't see them going that route though. A. Thomas was a perfect fit at a position of great need, Belicheck understood that and was agressive in getting it done.
