If were gonna go the cheap route for a servicable feature back, and that is likey the case I would prefer Ahmad Green over Corey Dillon. Since it will be backfield-by-committee anyway I think Green per touch has more big play potential than Dillon and with the eventual addition of a decent fullback he would be a good fit for this offense. Not to mention the fact that he "should" be cheaper than Dillon.

i saw Dukes suggest it on the NFL network. he thinks thats a missing piece to our success and specifically mentioned Green.

i also talked to badger bout this, its not the sexiest idea. but I could easily see it working. plus he should come cheap. i mean the guy has fallen off a little but he was a premier back just 2 years ago.

green and leon could make a good combo.

im not saying im definitely for it but it wouldnt be a bad signing if he could be had cheap.

I don't know about Ahmad Green, but Ahman Green might have 1 or 2 years left in him.

Ahmen Green isn't better than anyone already on our roster at this point in his career.

If you don't think Ahman Green is better than Cedric Houston right now, you are out of your mind.

Good lord...Corey Dillon looked like he was ready to keel over last season. He has no reason to be in shape or motivated and he's always been a jerk.

Ahman Green? What's the attraction? The fumbles, or the erosion of speed and quickness that is his entire game?

Marcel Shipp might be a sensible back up option. He's powerful and has never really gotten a shot in Arizona, plus he's local.

ok the last one was just sarcasm right. you may be right about dillon(hes retired i dont know what person even threw him out) and green is fading but the fact you insult two better rbs and suggest shipp is very very very laughable.

he sucks, theres a reason why he was never given a chance. if he was so good the cards wouldve spent the last 7 years beefing up their OL instead of looking for a RB, going through the thomas jones phsae, and eventually making the move for Edge.

The same Corey Dillon that ripped off a 40-yard run in the playoffs against the Jets? I think he is a little angry that the Pats drafted Maroney and he wants more touches. He "retired" in an effort to be released...essentially, release me or I will retire, either way, he won't be a Patriot.

He would be much better than Green, but who knows if he would be happy with 12 - 15 touches with the Jets as opposed to 7-10 he was getting with the Pats. He has more power than Green and would be a nice compliment to Leon.

Shipp is 28 and would be a BACKUP. Corey Dillon and Ahman Green are still operating under the illusion that they're feature backs. Green is supposedly looking for something in the neighborhood of 5 million a year.

And that 40 yard run Dillon ripped off was a chug-a-lug. A back with any legs left would have taken it to the house.

Moreover, how has that Thomas Jones guy looked in every other city? How about Edge? We don't need a superstar, we need ag uy who's capable of 4 yards a carry and getting physical yards.

i didnt mention the 40 yard run that was someone else. and if green wants 5M a year than screw him.

either way, shipp is still garbage. i wouldnt even want to see him as a BACKUP.

Of course Dillon isn't a RB with "breakaway speed" anymore, but he is the hammer the Jets need. In your previous post, you said he looked ready "to keel over." Considering the Jet longest run from a RB was 31 yards, I'd take a 40-yard "chug-a-lug" from Dillon any day.
