. . . he heard last night that the leading candidate for Adalius Thomas is the Patriots, and that San Francisco isn't even a contender for the guy. Just heard the guy talking about it on the radio. He thinks it gets done sometime in the next 24-48 hours. This would be bad. This would be extraordinarily bad.
If the Pats can do it and have it be so tragic, how do we have a lot of fans against this. Pats and Jets are very much mirror images. It's too bad we haven't heard many Thomas to Jets reports.
yeah see theyve got their core of mediocre to good players and theyve been doing there thing lately. i bet people who didnt want him have changed there minds.
Oh man, now signing him is not just to help us, but a defensive maneuver to outflank the new england pansypants
schefter is way better than clayton. IMO and this makes much sense, especially with dillon retiring they have some more cap space and theyre not dumb. the patriot way shit is in the past theyre aggressively trying to upgrade the team. and the dillon signing yrs ago was proof of that.
What I just read about the A.Thomas to Pats report by Schefter was that he reported the Pats were going to "make a big push" for A.Thomas in the next 24-48 hours, not that they would "get it done" in the next 24-48 hours.
Go back and read my post. I was typing it as the words were coming out of his mouth at 7:45 this morning. He was being interviewed on Boston sports radio. His near exact quote (when asked of the Patriots): "Let me be the first to say it. . . they are going to make a big splash in the next 24 to 48 hours. . . and they are the leading contenders for Adalius Thomas." Other tidbits: Randy Moss isn't going anywhere. Jeff Garcia will be a Raider. Joe Horn isn't going anywhere. He thinks that Drew Bledsoe will likely retire.
My bad, Sundayjack, I didn't read the post close enough to see that YOU had heard the report. Just posting what I read on a football news site. As for Joe Horn, I am not so sure he goes back to the Saints. He came out and basically said that Payton screwed him over and didn't play him when he was healthy. He then went on to say that he asked for his release (although that could just be semantics.)
