I love the picks you got but I think you could have done better. 1st off I think Spencer was a huge reach where you got him. Spencer could have possibly fallen even to our second 2nd rounder. I would have rather had something like:

    1: Darrelle Revis
2a: Brandon Mebane / Anthony Spencer
    2b: Lamar Woodly / Alama-Francis

I think you actually did a really good job and I would be VERY satisfied with that draft, but I think you could have gotten better value with that #25 because Spencer would have easily fallen to one, if not both, of our 2nd rounders, but you got amazing value with the other picks.

I think it's a good draft although I would have gone Meachem or Moses at 25, but that's just personal preference. I'm not too high on Spencer.

Pretty solid job with the Jets draft.

    - I think that Anthony Spencer was a bit of a reach, but not bad.
    - Aaron Ross was a good pick there.
    - Nice job with Francis at #59
    - No way Ramirez lasts that long after his performance over the weekend, but if he does, we hit the jackpot.

I'll do the rest of the NFL Draft tommorrow, but Minnesota with Adrian Peterson???? That's a mistake right?

Thank you for the feedback. Spencer has been all over the board so far so I wasn't sure exactly where he would fall but he had a pretty solid combine and remains one of the top 3-4 OLB's in the draft. We may be able to grab him at
38 but I thought the risk wasn't worth the potential reward of grabbing abother player. I don't think there is any way he will be available at 57 as of now.
As far as Revis goes, I am waiting for him to do anything before I go out on a limb for him but he may turn out to be a very nice pick there as you said.

Basically, I wanted to target Spencer and Alama-Francis and took them probably a little early to assure that we got them because I think they will both be great fits.

You are probably right about Ramirez.
I think Peterson is far and away the best prospect available at that pick and Chester Taylor wasn't terribly great in Minnesota. He put up solid numbers but I personally don't think he is the long term answer for them. Otherwise I think Minnesota is a pretty solid team that just needs skill players and until one of the WRs does something and proves he should be top ten, it would be a reach right now. Peterson isn't the biggest need, but the neither would Branch, Landry, Hall or Okoye. Maybe Levi Brown if he keeps up his solid pace and Childress takes a page out of Andy Reid's book and stacks both lines in the draft.

From what I have read, Moses is in freefall right now and may even drop to the third round.

"Moses' free fall continued during his four-day trip to Indy. He added some bulk for the event (261), but it didn't help his strength on the bench press, as he finished with a measly 17 reps. He also ran surprisingly poor times in his two 40-yard dash attempts (4.82 and 4.84). Once viewed as potentially a high first-round pick, Moses is considered no better than a second-round value."

I don't doubt it. I'm just one person that takes almost 0 stock in the Combine.

The way I look at it is this: If you can show me what you do on a football field, great. If you don't prove anything until the weight room or the track, there's a problem.

Now with Moses, he had a bad senior year, so I might pass on him anyway because maybe he's already peaked talent-wise. The Combine should probably throw up red flags if you perform very badly I guess, and so maybe you're right. But my biggest issue is people are using it too much as a REASON to pick someone.

A prime example of this right now is Olsen. NO ONE wanted him before the Combine. Nobody. Pete Prisco had us drafting him in his mock draft and everyone was up in arms. Then he runs a good 40 time and now it seems like half the draft posts are about how we gotta get Olsen. I'm sorry, but if he didn't prove he deserved our 1st round pick before the Combine, then he shouldn't deserve it afterwards. The Combine should only be taken into consideration after you already want a prospect at a certain spot. It shouldn't convince anyone that someone should be picked sooner in my opinion.

That was kind of an off-topic rant, but the gist of it before the rant was that you're probably right about Moses and I probably would've taken Meachem over Moses when I put 2 and 2 together.

    - I have a feeling that Detroit may surprise on draft day come pick #2, like you say.

    - I'm still pondered by Minnesota taking a RB when Chester Taylor performed very well last year.

    - 2 consecutive secondary picks for Miami after using a 1st rounder last year? They also should look into youth at the DL,OL and LB.

    - Meachem probably goes higher.

    - Other than that, everything else looks pretty reasonable and accurate IMO. Nicely done.

To be fair about Olsen, he played on a very mediocre Miami offense the last couple years. It's not like Shockey or Winslow when Dorsey was running that machine.

Detroit is a complete wild card because they say they aren't going for a QB and I tend to agree with that for two reasons. 1) Kitna played reasonably well and I am one of the few that think McCown can be a good starter. 2) Martz never needed big name quarterbacks to run his offense. Trent Green, Kurt Warner and Mark Bulger came from no where to become superstars under him. There is no reason they can't transform McCown or get someone like Trent Edwards or Kevin Kolb later in the draft.

I'm going to need to reevaluate Miami's picks because you raise a good point but they are so hard to predict because of the new coaching staff and the complete disarray I think they are in as far as there personnel goes.

I'll probably swap Meachem for Bowe now that you mention it.

How about Brian Leonard and telling him to put on 10-15 pounds and being a fullback? Noodle arm pennington loves throwing little dump passes and screens. He is going to be the best FB in the league when it comes to rushing and recieving. His blocking isnt spectacular but he gets the job done. The jets need a FB, hes a local guy, and can be picked with our second pick in the second round. Why aren't any Jet fans high on this guy?

    Thanks!

To csw, you should have been poking around this section when Rutgers was on there run. All anyone would talk about was Leonard. Most people want him because he is the most relevant player from the NY area in many years. He is not good enough to play Running Back and will be picked too high to play full back. I mean if there is a position that shouldn't be picked high on par with kicker it has to be fullback.
I put him on the Bucs because Alstott is coming to an end in his career and I think Leonard can be the same type of big 1 back set type of player that Alstott was and also play a little full back at the same time. Basically if he is going to play running back it is going to have to be in a one back set and this was the most notable team utilizing this scheme that I could think of.

-minnesota wouldnt take Adrian Peterson since they signed Chester Taylor to a big deal last offseason and he was sorta productive this year.
-i dont think the Giants take Free in the second. word on the street is that we are now colse to signing O'Hara. the agent for O'Hara and Strahan went to visit the FO today, the meeting just ended apparently, but there is no word of what happened yet.
    - taking Pauly Poz at 20 is kind of a reach. if we really wanted him so bad we could always trade down and get more picks and take him around 27. also, we dont have Ernie Accorsi anymore who had that obsession with his old school Penn State so im not sure we'd take him
-i love the Eric Wright pick in the 3rd...

No way Pousluszny is a reach at #20. He's tough old school linebacker that could really help out the Giants. Plus, he had a good combine as well.

He's not a great blocker and is more of a BJ Askew-type back in terms of what he provides.

Leonard has recently lost weight in order to prove that he can play RB at the next level.
