Yes, and only because I doubt they plan on giving Assante Samuel a big contract next offseason when he become a free agent. It's good planning ahead. You're next pick has to be an ILB. (Zack DeOssie from Brown).
Stop giving away my ideas!!!! DeOssie is currently #2 on my ILB ranking chart, that is in my head. I have about 5 I am looking to draft. Also, I do think they are gonna give Samuel a big contract because I couldn't see a team like the Patriots throwing huge money at a guy only to have him for 1 year. They either throw money at a long term deal or dont throw money at all. So I think Samuel could be around for awhile.
My bad... I can't say I didn't mean to keep it a secret, since he's not much of a secret... But I was thinking of 2 other great guys for to play in New England as an ILB. And I WILL NOT mention those guys.
Ok, well I will tell you my list because I wanna hear what you have to say about it, lol. I am betting now after this all of these guys are gonna be taken, but whatever, here I go. 1. Jon Abbate (Wake Forest - Projected 3rd to 4th round) 2. Zak DeOssie (Brown - Projected 3rd to 5th round) 3. Anthony Waters (Clemson - Projected 4th to 5th round) 4. Prescott Burgess (Michigan - Projected 4th to 5th round) 5. Desmond Bishop (California - Projected 4th to 6th round) - One of my favorite sleepers. So as long as one of them falls (hopefully top 3) I will be happy.
Looks good... I thought Prescott Burgess was a DE/OLB, but I could be wrong. You have the other 2 guys I was thinking of on their in addition to DeOssie. Did you project those rounds for the players yourself or is that from a site?
Burgess is a 6-3, 245 OLB that has played both inside and outside in college. He is very quick and has all the things you would look for in a LB, but never did too great in college. I don't love him but I think he could be a steal if he could be had in the late 4th - mid 5th rounds. Also, I did those projections myself.
I agree. I think we need to set a certain time limit. Because when we wait 24 hours+ that is ridiculous. I say something like the draft starts everyday at 4:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM and you have say 1 hour to choose your pick, or else we choose for you. It ends at 12:00 and you can still pick then but there is no time limit, so there are a good 16 hours of just draft whenever you please, and then 8 hours of limited draft.
How about 4 hours per pick, then thers a small vote on that persons pick if he isnt there on time. 1 hour is rough. Some people are in college classes or have jobs and can't always get to a computer.
Well if we have all those hours of people in school, from like 7 to 3 or 4. And then 4 hours to pick. And also time for people to sleep, we are gonna get in like 2 picks per day.
I suggest that starting tomorrow we switch to 4 hours per pick. If you know you won't be around, PM your pick to someone that doesn't pick before you do. If no one has your pick and you miss it, whoever is around should make the pick. If the guy you really wanted is still there when you show up after a missed pick, it is up to you if you want to keep the player chosen for you or take someone that is still available. What do you guys think?
My thoughts exactly. I believed that if it worked out it can help their horrid rush defense substantially and if it doesn't work out it isn't the end of the world.
