I hate rutgers, you dont know what your talking about. Leonard is a player. Put him at fb, let leon dash for a 6 yard run. Put Tutt at fb let leonard run for 4 yards up the middle. Put Leonard at TE let him cath a 5 yard pass to turn it into 20 yard first down. put him on special teams to knock the crap outta ya. Put him at waterboy let him refresh everyone.<< team player.
i dont like getting into the race arguement at all but,.. i am VERY positive leonard would have left last season, been drafted in the first round and would currently be starting or splitting time at TB if he was african american. ive seen reports where scouts will state that their are stereotypes in the nfl, if you dont think their is your insane. white TB's do not exist in the NFL today. i want to be the team to change that, to start a new way, so to speak.
SO THAN WHY AREN"T THERE ANY WHITE CORNERBACKS OR RUNNING BACKS? I am not saying that skin color matters, however, look at the facts. There was not one starting RB or CB that was white. There is no science involved here.
brian leonard at TE? and I dont know what im talking about? its not just the rutgers thing either. with others its more of a great white hope kinda thing.
It's discrimination that starts right down in High School. Same goes for black QBs. Well, discrimination may not be as much of a factor as a "know your role" sort of deal at that level. Coaches naturally tend to groom players based on their skin color rather than ability set into certain positions. I had a friend who played as a freshman in HS; he was the starting RB in Middle School, star of the team, probably got 6 or 7 yards on average when he carried the ball. Given, we weren't a big school, but the guy was really athletic. He gets up to High School and after a few games where he actually ran better than the current RB, he was moved to LB, hated it, and quit the sport 2 years later. He's white. The notion that blacks because of their skin color make better RBs is absurd. It all has to do with their groming, training, and such on the way up as well as their overall ability as an individual. The fact that someone like Leonard could make it this far is astounding and is a testament to his ability. I'm not saying anything like there are tons of opposite-colored players trying to get into these positions that are being favored against, but there's a reason that goes right on down to junior level. Like I said, it's not like all the white RBs coming out of college are being shut down in the NFL or anything. THere are none coming out because none are being developed as such when hey becaome players in the first place. It's not as absurd as you're thinking, but I could see it being more as Brad Smith type trickery. Not draft him to play TE or anything. The guy lining up as one once every few games would be a card up the sleve that I could see Shotty using.
There was a study into why West Indian fast bowlers were the best in the world (cricket) and how they attain such ferocity in their bowling. The findings were that their physical frame was tougher and stronger than their white brothers , although the argument still goes on. Don't flame me for this , but some of these so called third world countries still have people chasing their lunch and have been for centuries and maybe a few more still. How many 2nd/3rd/4th generation Africans play or have played in the NFL? Why don't more white europeans play in the NFL? Coincidence?
WTF? This is probably the most retarded shit I've ever read on this board. Are you like 6 man? What does this matter? Most don't even like American Football, at all. If one can play, and WANTS to play, then why not? This isn't even going into the facts that Mobius presented. The best RB in NJ right now is a white kid. I'm willing to bet this kid won't be a RB for long. His toughness, speed, agility and so on are better suited for...LBer...like most really athletic white football players.
It doesn't matter but its interesting because the ratio is huge , I would love to back this up with stats but at the moment I can't , but the evidence is there if you dig. The fact that IYO the best back in NJ is white is neither here nor there either is it , football is about sport not skin colour.
