Adrian Jones started at RT for the Jets two years ago. I don't think he's very good there and probably is better suited for his role as Dbrick's backup, however the Jets definitiely have somebody who can play RT on the roster.
I'll always remember BJ Askew for walking around shirtless before the Packers game. Nothing else, though.
Does this mean that the Jets draft methodology is "Take the best player at our spot" (Lots of OL-man in the draft). Ill bet come season opener ,we are all saying damb we have a solid squad. You guy's remember how good Carolina looked the year before they went to the big dance;you could tell that they were going to blow up the next year. Im hoping we see a team put together by draft time to pretty much call the pick the missing peice.
My guess is Clement wanted starters money. Neither of them are a huge loss. I would love to grab that FB from Baltimore though. That's how you fill a hole in free agency.
Bye bye Askew, it is about time. He was a horrible pick and one at a position we didn't need at the time. Askew leaving is long over due. Hopefully he finds his way to Kansas City to keep the Germ company.
Not really gay at all. I remember that too. It was a message to the Packers saying the cold doesn't scare us. And the score reflected that.
Yea i remember it, and if i remember right, he threw one hell of a block on a lineman to spring Houston into the endzone that game...that was a good day for all Jets fans!
Jon Stinchcomb, 6-5 315, age 27, RT from NO...athletic with size. Throw in a couple big guards (Derrick Dockery and Montrae Holland would be an ideal pair) and our line is the best in the league. We are more likely to fill one of these spots in the draft. Just saying my ideal. None of these guys would require huge money so its feasible.
Big guards go against the philosiphy of our line, which is more of a finesse line put together with athletic, smaller and more nimble players...
The release of Askew points once again to the fact that USA Today has no idea as to anything "Jets-related."
I guess that is why we started clement last year? Or why the number one priority is for brick and mangold to add weight in the offseason? I'd go out on a limb and say that derrick dockery is just as, if not much more, athletic than brandon moore. Its not as simple as "you are 330 lbs so you arent athleic". and your point is more true with the tackles where we would be very athletic with this lineup. However, I think any jet fan would agree that we havent had a true power run game in about...well never. When was the last time you felt confident that we could line up and get a 3rd and 2 no problem? We usually revert to gimmick plays in this situation. It seems that this regime understands that we must invest in the trenches and I hope this trend continues.
