Yea I read at the end of your post that it was from another board, I didn't want to just delete everything I typed. Either way, you said it was a good post, so you at least agreed with some of it. And you can make up all the cute nicknames you want, but it's not too much of a stretch that people think Chad can win a superbowl. And I think you have it backwards. Those dedicated Jets fans who made the post that you posted here said: "Thusly, the KCSM/CFABRLT and it's members dedicate themselves to removing the proven-failure Chad Pennington from his role as starting QB of the NYJ and replacing him with another QB, any other QB, just so long as it is not Chad "No TD's In Playoff Games" Pennington" Any other QB. Wow. Chad must be the worst QB in the history of football then. Any other QB would get us closer to winning a superbowl. Yea, ok. Seems like they are more concerned with bashing Chad than the team winning.
You really need to settle down with the capital letters. I couldn't get through that post. At least capitalize the words you mean to emphasize - you just do it randomly.
Thanks for your input! I disagree with you and I will CONTINUE to do it my way! Note: I wanted to emphasize CONTINUE!
I'd love for CHAD to prove me wrong! He won't though unless we get him all the pieces to the puzzle. He simply can not carry the team as an ELWAY can. But that is NOT to say that he can't win a SB. Heck, if Hostettler, Dilfer can do it, why not CHAD? First let him beat NE consistently. Then lets see what we have. I do not care which QB wins us a SB. That is quite unlike the Chadettes. If their man is not at the helm they will surely have a fit!
Lumping Doug Williams in with Dilfer and Hostettler is an insult to Doug Williams. The guy had one of the great arms in NFL history and was asked to carry one of the worst offensive teams in the league. He had the crap kicked out of him but the guy had incredible talent.
And I'm the one who flew off the handle????? I thought my post sounded more like I was bored instead of the manic nature of this post. KYJ rants like this and then claims he doesn't really care who the QB is after stating after that any QB in the NFL would be a better option than Pennington. I'm tired of this discussion and bored with it, especially considering that the Jets are clearly likely to begin the 2007 season with Pennington as the starter and Clemens as the back up. Let's talk about something we don't know, such as whether Thomas would be a good signing or whether the Jets should go DL, DB, or RB early in the draft.
wow I actually feel bad for Chad. The guys probably the hardest worker in football, a true Jet, all he wants to do it win....And all you ignorant morons want to do is bash him and say any other quarteback is better than him... There is about 4 people on this site with a CLUE. Th rest are typical NY fans, probably the same ones that boo Mariano Rivera and A-Rod (and Im a Mets fan btw) I understand that Chad is not Peyton Manning-but give the guy his due. Dont disrespect him by saying we can win with any QB. OK Im done
Simple, short answer. I agree too. In one respect, QB contraversy is a bad thing meaning there's instability at the position. On the other hand, I'm also not convinced CP will lead us to the promised land. Then again, how long did it take Peyton Manning? Not a fair comparison, I know, be he's the best of the best and his SB didn't come over night. If Mangini believes Clemens is the future of the Jets, the time too play him is now. We all heard these rumbling when we drafted Pennington too. Why isn't he playing? Whats wrong with him? He has a weak arm, etc. He turned out ok, but he's certainly not a top tiere quarterback. I expect Clemens will get more playing time this preseason. This should give us all a better opprotunity to see where he's at. It could also put some of this stuff to rest. As a Jets fan I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
When are the 4 of you with clues getting together? With 4 clues you might be able to solve the mystery of why we aren't a SB contender and post it for the rest of us ignorant morons.
Hysterical. QB is the least of our problems. There are many other things that we could improve that would bring us to serious Super Bowl contender. Also, I believE that in '04 we were considered serious contenders ( 1 kiCk away from title game). I forgot..WHO WAS OUR QB THAT YR???
if rex grossman can get to a superbowl i have faith that chad can. He needs help people! how about a running game? Chad has to throw the ball so much that eventually he will have to make mistakes. One of chad's strongest points is his great play action. But teams wont bite on a play action if there is no threat of a running game. He has done a great job running a very complicated offense. I believe that qb ability is overrated when it comes to reaching a superbowl (reaching not necessarily winning). Rex grossman, ben rothlisberger, matt hasselback, brad johnson, trent dilfer, KERRY COLLINS. Just to name a few...
Great post. The problem is most people here feel we need Peyton Manning or Tom Brady to be contenders. There are many, many teams in the NFL that are far worse off than us-so lets stop complainin gabout our QB. Chad is here. The coaches love him, the GM loves him. Everyone always comes on here saying how great "Tangini" is and how much they trust them. Well, they must have played Chad, and named him next yrs starter for a reason!!!! Or are we all hypocrites. We trust them on every position but QB????
They also played Moore at Guard and Von Oelhoffen at DE for a reason, maybe they were the best we had on the roster at the position they play?
Rex Grossman was as good as Chad last year and the fact is if Chicago was in the AFC they don't go to the SB. We are in the AFC, we have to go through NE, SD, IND, Baltimore, CIN, Pitt to get to a SB. Payton Manning, Tom Brady and Carson Palmer are in our confrence.
I don't see where Pennington was named the starter for next season. Mangini named him the starter entering training camp not exactly the same as naming him the starter for the 07 season. Hard to imagine him not beating out Clemens though.
Yea. I dont see any way Clemens beats out Chad as long as he is on the roster. But if we really needed a new QB to become contenders, dont you think we would be trying to acquire one?
