No one is saying to completely avoid a guy because he has a disreputable past. But you shouldn't ignore it either.
great stuff, Trey Ko. I was very happy to read it - I was even willing to sift through a lot of junk to read it, which should give you an indication of how much I appreciate your reports.
Wow, that was a jump and a gross exageration of what I said. I said some kids straighten out, some don't, but if they have a history it makes them riskier than another player that has stayed out of trouble. That's absolutely nothing like saying "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS". Your attempt to restate and grossly exagerate what I said is what's poor here. I am not at all against getting a player that has been in a few scrapes. Justin Miller fell in the 2005 draft due to a really silly "noise violation" thing that was handled poorly by the cops and got way over blown. I certainly didn't think that made Miller a "risky character pick". Now a guy that was thrown off a team, has several arrests in his past, etc has demonstarted a pattern that DOES make him a riskier pick. I don't want Pacman on the Jets... does anyone? I don't want players that are looking at their third drug penalty either, like a Merriman, despite how good he is. One more violation, he's gone for a year. That is not a sound investment IMO. I love it when someone tells me what I said and it isn't even remotely close to my comments, just to formualte a a position to defend in a discussion. I didn't come anywhere close to what you claim my opinion was.
http://fflivewire.com/players/PlayersCombine.asp thats a website with the players heights and weights, looks legit to me.
Thanks Trey Ko. I'm glad to hear Leon wants to carry the load for the team and wants to compete with others for the job. I'd be willing to bet he gets it.
Thanks a lot for being our guy on the inside...great stuff. Sorry you had to put up with a few bad apples, but glad you kept on pluggin. We're looking forward to more...maybe in a new CLEAN thread
It's offricial! Calvin Johnson ran a 4.35 this morning at 239 lbs.... It's not exactly the 4.33 that I had yesterday, but who cares???
Wow. A humble, talented and awesomely athletic wide receiver in the NFL. What a breath of fresh air this kid will be.
its as unofficial as greg olson's 4.4 (turned out to be a 4.5). lets wait for the official results. its still impressive though
Laurent Robinson is gonna be a good player in the NFL... He's a lanky, fast receiver that isn't getting much because of where he played. Illinois State.
CJ ran a 4.35 still think he isnt a elite athlete? because 4.35 and 45 inch vertical is pretty damn elite to me.
the 45inch vertical never happened. it was a private workout. and once again, his 4.35 is still unofficial. but sure its impressive. even though almost every WR at the combine ran a 4.3
side note im shocked gonzalez has 4.3 speed... imo he is easily a better reciever than ginn before the speed .
i've got Ellison: 4.39 Walker: 4.39 Robinson: 4.33 Meachem: 4.36 Johnson: 4.35 Hill: 4.32 Figurs: 4.30 Clowney: 4.36 plus a number of guys in 4.40-4.45 range. even slower receivers like steve smith ran great times (4.44). yeah, gonzalez is easily better than ginn. he runs outstanding routes and has great hands.
