make an unstoppable force with both on one team. Greg Olson- 4.45 Vernon Davis- 4.38 Would you run a split tight formation(having tight ends on both sides) If you run this with these two TE the any offense would be unpredictable. If you run they are excellent blockers. If you pass they are faster than some receivers and can catch. Just a thought.
Considering that you overrated Vernon Davis and Greg Olsen a lot, this thread is pointless. Davis struggled running routes and getting bumped off the line by the San Fransisco 49er linebackers in training camp and in his limited action. You overrate Olsen as a blocker, and give him too much credit as a big play man, when his real game is intermediate stuff. He doesn't break a lot of tackles, and he's not a deep threat just because he has speed. You also don't consider the fact that he's short and he can't outjump big 6'4" type safeties in pads, or outleap them.
davis is far away from being an excellent blocker and olson is average at best. also olsen ran a 4.51, not a 4.4. but sure, i would go after them..they're pretty good and athletic TE's even though we dont use our TE's like..lets say the ravens or the titans (used to)
No, his best times were 4.45 and 4.47 according to various sources. We used two tightend sets a lot, our only problem is that our pass protection was so bad at some points we kept in a back, and Sean Ryan. It's not like he's much of a receiver himself, but he never really got the chance to showcase his capabilities even as an average pass catcher. I'd like to see us sign Daniel Graham, but other then that no tightend. It's a luxury position that is the most irrelevant position on the field.
