The glaring need of DT has been very much overlooked and I don't think we will pick up what we need outside of round 3. I like that mock draft. Looks very accurate. My only issue is that so many mock drafts have the Patriots taking a WR. I just don't see it. I know it's a weakness but they took Chad Jackson pretty early last year and they never care about WRs, even when it's a weakness. Same with CBs. I think the Pats will just go back to their LBs and DBs.

If Patrick Willis is available at pick 24, I really don't see the Patriots passing him up... but then again, stranger things have happened.
I really don't like that draft for us... would've went: 1. Justin Blalock 2a. Hughes or Moses 2b. Hunt ILB is not exactly a need for us, as Victor Hobson would fit much better inside then out (he's a bigger LB and he's not THAT fast) so Moses would be a better fit then Willis, IMO. But for the most part the mock is solid and one of the best I've seen so far.

I agree, OLB is a bigger need but I thought Willis was the superior player and fits as to what Mangini looks for in a player(came out of an abusive household and was a self made academic) Cutting Barton would save 3 million and Hobson would still see a lot of time at both ILB and OLB. I question Hughes' speed. He was pretty much destroyed by Steve Smith vs USC. He's real susceptible to the double-move and will get caught with his eyes in the backfield vs. man. I think he'd be a better fit in a Cover 2 than our defense.
Willis lasting to 25? Doubt it... He's a great prospect. I expect either the Rams or Panthers to take him at 13/14.
Interesting that Steve Smith has consistently not been drafted in these mocks. Any reason he wouldn't be in the top three rounds?
That's where I believe Willis grades out currently. Many people feel he's a borderline 1st-2nd rounder but then again, I certainly wouldn't rule out Willis going as high as 11(since Singletary loved him) Seems to be a pretty varied range on where people think he'll go so anything's possible... Smith just doesn't have the best size/speed in the world. It was also how the mock fell. Deep class or WRs with most of the 1st/2nd day border guys falling to the 2nd.
New one is out- different 1st rounder which I'm sure will take heat... but that's part of the game...

Am I reaching on some of the trends? Maybe. But I thought examining the Patriots' track record with drafts would be a good tool to look at in trying to predict what Mangini will do" Jets drafted 2 lineman in the first round last year, traded down out of both their 2nd and 3rd round picks, and acquired a future(this year's) 2nd....so I think I'm on to something. I had my doubts of how his running style translated to the NFL BEFORE the injury... For a RB who didn't have good speed to begin with to be out-of-shape and walking with a limp, I see 74 as reasonably generous. Once he checks out medically, he'll start rising back up my board.
I know some people have Olsen higher know because Olsen's stock is hot after interviewing well, but Miller is the better talent, IMO.
