Research the archives of the NY newspapers & you will surely find it. As a "devoted" NYJ fan you should be reading the papers every day also to remain current at least IMHO

I get all of my news here, because I don't want to be told the facts as they are interpreted by a beat writer who has a chip on his shoulder. Journalism is rife with irresponsibility. The good stuff tends to stick to the wall.

I am "not" against it just pointing out that he is a very, very, very weak link in the D at the present moment. If you consider making his tackles 5 or more yds D/F from the POA acceptable then your standards & mine are on completely different levels

Well, since you are the only one who has claimed to see it, post the link. Otherwise you are posting false news. And that is a no-no.

But you use quotes out of context so much, why should we just take you at your word?

You said VILMA said it. Prove it. If you can not post a link, than it is posting false news.

Then take 5/10 minutes everyday to read the papers & then you will have the info in your head right?

Great a link to a made up quote from you.

How about we listen more to a Legend like Joe Klecko:

I do read the papers every day, with "read" being the key word. You have proven an inability to even type in English in the past, so your comprehension skills are apparently severely lacking. I know Vilma never said anything like "I'm not smart enough to pick up on the 3-4 defense".

Either quote your source or stfu, it's that simple. It is up to you to provide the burden of proof. You expect us to just go on the word of some senile, old *****? I don't think so.

Good luck finding that quote, because it is NOT out there, Mr. SLW.

This is simple.. 90% of our defense had too adapt to a completely new defensive scheme. It is hard to "stand-out" in a defense unless everyone on the team understands a 3-4 scheme, and is clicking on all cylinders. Vilma is picking up his new role at a very high rate, and the time frame of just one season is not very long for adapting to a new defensive scheme at all. They struggled as a whole in the start of the season, but it was obvious our D was FINALLY getting it. Vilma has talent, and will be a playmaker, but he needs for his team to free him up so he can disprove your theories.

I recall the only thing that he admitted was that he was not used to this type of scheme, and was not playing to his full potential because he was being forced to learn a new system. This does not tell you exactly where he is in his learning curve with this system, and this only should show you that even though he is not playing to full potential now, he will eventually get this scheme down, and when he does he will be a very dominant MLB in this league. IMO

You really can't be this stupid...

Post a link TO AN ARTICLE QUOTING JONATHAN VILMA

Posting someone elses' opinion or what they remember is not proof. Really, how retarded can your "proof" get? You will never find an article where JV says he's not smart enough to pick up the 3-4. It never took place.

Could he have said "I've never played the 3-4 before"? Sure, because he never has. But that isn't proof that HE doesn't feel that HE isn't smart enough to pick it up.

Post a link to where JV himself says he isn't smart enough to pick up the 3-4 or STFU with your bullshit already.

Well he remembered cause he read the same article as me. Look I only want to see us win a SB so it will be up to Man to make that happen & I hope he sees what has to be done to make that necessary. If I may suggest it is better to not endear yourself to a player but instead think of the TEAM. Just think of this scenario that the quality massive NT DOES not materialize now we are again stuck with a MLB allowing the other side 5 yds per carry. Do you thing that is good for us & do you think that with that defect we can EVER become World Champions?

[...WHAT THE JETS ARE REALLY LACKING IS A PHYSICALLY INTIMIDATING, VOCAL LEADER WHO WILL HOLD HIS TEAMMATES ACCOUNTABLE WHEN THEY SCREW UP.

This is Mangini's most important "get", and it doesn't matter whether it comes in the form of a pass-rushing DE, a run-stuffing DT, or a super-defending D-back.[/QUOTE]

You guys have carjacked this thread into a referendum on Vilma.

It's not about Vilma's worth, or ability. It's not even about Vilma!

It's about a player--yet to be drafted or signed--who will make the Super Bowl appear on the near horizon, just as Lawrence Tayor did for the Giants.

When the Jets find this player, you'll know it, they'll know it, and the whole league will know it.

The Super Bowl will go from being an "IF" to a "WHEN".
