That sounds right. I seem to remember that the reason they ended in a tie was so that gamblers wouldn't make money on the race, but I could be wrong about that. I do remember that at various times during the race each saved the other without the other knowing it (they were running past a volcano that spit up a kryptonite meteor that The Flash got rid of by opening a fissure in the ground with his foot for one, as I recall).
