i also like the idea of taking beekman. he was my favorite ghostbuster. chris berman might call him dr. beekman.
I don't like it. Don't know enough about the RG/RT (Clement was very solid this year) I absolutely don't understand the cutting of Eric Barton (Are we turning into the Patriots where we refuse to pay guys above the league minimum?) Don't know much about Vonnie Holliday to judge him, and I don't know enough about Cory Anderson where he could be a 6th round pick improvement over what we have......... Also, are we going in with just Smith, Cotch, and Coles at WR? Dwight still on the team? Post the backups you have.......
- Vonnie Holiday is a nice fit, but he's a bit old - No need for Daniel Graham, Baker is a good all around TE. - Assante Samuel will probably either be resigned or tagged. - Jordan Black would be nice if he gets to free agency. - Spencer/Beekman are good picks. Will McBean last that long? - Doughty is trash. Too bad he is though, he'd make a nice 3-4 NT. - We can't depend on a 6th round pick to step in at FB. - No need to cut Ramsey... - Why cut Barton? - We need another WR. If Coles/Cotchery go down, we'd be roally screwed. - It took you 12434123 attempts at a mock draft, but this one is finally pretty solid.....
Holliday will only be for a year or too and then McBean will take over If We dont get Ansante then we will go after Clemens
Bennett won't be too cheap if he hits free agency. If we got all of the said players, our cap figure would be near $0.
if leron mcclain is ahead of anderson, i would much rather have him at fullback. McClain will break your facemask.
If not via draft, a couple of possible options would be: - Bobby Wade, UFA Tennessee - Bobby Engram, UFA Seattle - Shaun McDonald, UFA St. Louis I'd love Drew Bennett, but I doubt Tennessee lets him go, and he'd probably cost quite a bit if he did become a free agent.
Yeah I heard he's supposed to be a very good lead-blocker, which is what we need instead of a guy like Askew. I think McClain is about 260 Ibs.
Draft 1.Tank Tyler DT 6'2" 323 5.20 40 time 2. Jarvis Moss DE 6'6" 252 4.6 40 time (convert him to OLB) 2. Aaron Ross CB 6'1" 192 4.4 40 time 3. Lorenzo Booker RB 5'11" 190 4.4 40 time 5. Joe Staley OT 6'"6 296 4.75 40 time 6. Corey Anderson FB 6'3" 258 4.7 40 time FA Signings Asante Samuel CB Ben Graham TE Drew Bennett WR
Tyler's stock is falling fast... I don't know if Moss lasts that long. It's possible though. I think Ross's stock is rising, but he may be around there. Joe Staley's stock is rising. He reportedley ran a 4.70. He may be gone in the early 2nd.
1)Michael Bush is not the future HB of our team. Hes more like a fullback then a HB. Plus, i doubt he stays around long enough to take him in the second round. 2)Why do we need Daniel Graham? If you had seen Baker in the playoffs or anytime he got the opportunity to go out and make a play, he made it. Time after time. Ive harped on this point a lot this season and i will continue to do so. Chris Baker happens to be a very good blocker. For this reason, he stayed in to block and help out with a young offensive line. as the line starts to gel, Baker will be able to go out, catch more passes, and make some plays. 3)Re-sign Hank Poteat and David Ball...really? 4)I'm pretty sure i heard Vonnie Holliday may even retire this offseason. He's old as can be and won't be around very long. 5)Why are we cutting Eric Barton. I've heard this alot and i really dont understand it. He really wasnt awful this year, and he's a strong veteran presense on the team. I want him around 6)Cory Anderson played spectacular in that allstar game this past weekend and probably wont be around in the 6th. Plus, weve still got Stacey Tutt who we probably wont give up on and BJ Askew got a few touches towards the end of the season. 7)I did like the positions that you had the Jets drafting. You pretty much hit all the Jets' holes pretty well except for maybe the secondary. I criticize...but just because its worth criticizing. Much better than some of the other ones floating around. Good work.
1) I'm a fan of Bush, but I don't think he will be around for our pick either. If you think he's more of a FB, then I'm sure you don't want Tony Hunt. 2) We don't need Daniel Graham but we could use him. 2 TE sets are common these days and he's an excellent TE for a 2 TE set. No one is saying he's taking Baker's job. 3) You have to re-sign Poteat. He's not expensive and he stepped up this season. I would also consider re-signing Barrett personally. As for Ball, I agree. I'd be willing to let him go. 4) I agree about Holiday. Too old. 5) Again, I agree about Barton, even if he doesn't start. 6) Sixth round is not out of the question for Anderson. He's generally the 3rd-4th rated FB in this class, and you'll be hard pressed to see that many teams drafting FBs in the first 5 rounds.
