well you can throw the neutral weather/field conditions out the window.

it's pouring in Miami and there've been like 6 fumbles in the first half.

    cheers

It was the same exact conditions as the game on Christmas that the Jets won down here. I drove by the Stadium got a Super Bowl hat and got pretty damn wet in the process. Oh and got screwed without a condom.................... 32 bucks for a hat woohoo.

Oh then get home to be bitched at by my girl," How come you did not get me a hat?" ............ "Well because I have never seen you wear one"........... " I might if I had one!" Someone shoot me now.

I hate how the games are either in hot weather states or domes. Let these guys play in the elements once and awhile. I wanna see a super bowl in Green Bay.

yeah, definitely reminiscent of the Jets v Dolphins game -- in fact, i think they even referenced that during the game.

and damn, raw deal with the hat and your girlfriend. i don't think the female brain will ever be fully comprehended by us.

    cheers

Very good points, but just wanted to say you could get tix on Ebay for about $2,000 each. That's still an absurd 3 times face value. I was actually thinking of going to Miami (I have tons of frequent flier miles) and hanging out at the stadium until game time to see if the ticket Ho's were dumping their tickets they couldn't sell for thousands for just a couple of hundred. If anyone has any info on that please post here. Also, the pre-superbowl parties were charging insane admission prices. I saw anywhere from $400-$5000 for a freaking party! Not that you were even guaranteed to meet the "celebrities" at these events, but hey give us a couple of grand just for the privilege to come in. Even though I'm a frequent visitor to SOBE, I was outraged by what they were charging people. They should change the name from the Super Bowl to the Super Wealthy And Greed Bowl (The Swag Bowl for short).

The best point about the miami game being that it was a mini monsoon going on. was that it was natural weather conditions which in turn made it a football game. The colts or the bears had no advantage more so the colts since everyone had them blowing the bears out. When the weather comes into factor it changes the entire way the game is planned and played.

that was a perfect example of any given sunday you dont know what could happen. And one more point is.... it was raining hard and all those corporate people kept there asses right in those seats thee entire game they come up north they will do the same.. and they afterwards superbowls over and we could go to manhattan and party our brains out!!!!! it would be like those corporate people won the superbowl themselves.

yes we know about the neutral environment thing but answer me this if miami made it to the superbowl this year is the neutral environment still a factor??? and espn said 8 superbowls were played in new orleans 9 played in miami you figure maybe 8-9 played in califorinia to me thas majority of the superbowls played in warm weather states.. a couple of times they went up north somewhere but all of them were domes except of chicago the tundra bowl.

The sad part about is that yesterday just felt more like a football game. Raining..crappy weather. I really enjoyed watching the game because of that. Teams weaknesses were exposed more. The running game became more important. The kicking game wasnt automatic.

Lets face it, its not for the fans though.

Sorry tank..didnt see this point..but as you can see from my above post...I totally agree. It was just pure football and enjoyable on two fronts.

    1. Watching teams play football the way it should be in February.

    2. Watching the suits squirm in their seats and actually have to pay attention to the game.

yeah thas the best part about the games like that you never know whose gonna win. theres no clear cut edge for nobody know when you play the game it comes down to who wants this championship more you or them and the colts wanted more.

i just get tired of them making the superbowls perfect conditions and the perfect ending to a season to play some where nice etc etc.. you play the entire season in weather conditions that are unpredictable why not superbowl. thas what the dam pro bowl is for go to hawaii and get some sun if you feel it was to cold during the superbowl. and like you said you actually had to watch the game and pay attention.

if it wasnt for rex grossman's sorry arm we probably would of seen one of the best superbowls ever played.

I see what some of you guys are saying that the snow would make it fun and thats "real" football etc.....fact is the vast majority and I mean vast majority of the games throughout the year are not played in snow or frigid temps.....where this notion of snow is real football always confused me.....a superbolw in which you could not see the yard lines and players were slipping all over the field and where a Peyton Manning couldnt even hold the ball to throw it would be a pile of shit....and no way to determine a champ

i mean it doesnt have to be snow conditions. my point was that they always put it in a warm place where 9 outta 10 times its not gonna be nothing else but good weather. it was the first time it ever rained in a superbowl. they just try to make it so the conditions are perfect put the superbowl where you dont know what the weather may bring and that might determine if underdog might not be the underdog anymore situations.

Weather should not be a factor in determining your league's champion. The teams battled hard enough through the elements during the season.

Imagine if they gave homefield advantage in the Super Bowl to the best team left....Maybe that would eliminate some of these Wild Card teams getting in at 9-7 or 10-6 only to go on a run (Yes..like the Steelers last year)

I think people are missing the point tank...I can see why they would. Nobody is calling for a snowstorm during every superbowl..it was just nice to see a game with another factor added to it. All the pomp and circumstance was softened by a nice rain storm. Made it more about the game then shots on our TV with hollywood stars etc.

It seemed to me it was just another important football game..without the glitter..which was damn refreshing.
