Why are most of the superbowls that are played, played in warm weather states. Its kinda a disadvantage sometimes to teams who relie on cold weather to psych there opponents out. To me it should rotate around to every state there is that has a football team not just the warmer weathered states. Id like to see it played one year in a snowy state for a snowbowl or somewhere where it rains heavy. just basically get all the weather involved in the superbowl. when teams play during the regular season they have to play in what ever conditions present themselves. This thread is now open for discussion!!!!
Because no one wants to pay $5000 to sit in the cold no matter how fun it would make the game. The game's 3 and a 1/2 hours. The weekend is 72. 72 hours in the cold? F that.
no one would want too but if they had to id bet they'd be right there if you were a true fan of your team........ if the jets were in the superbowl right now and it was at Giant stadium you wouldnt go?? i know id be right there...
yea, but the NFL makes money all week long with sponsored parties, and tv shit....economics comes 1st.
people from all over the world want to come to NYC/Tristate area it would be like killing two birds with one stone. it would be like superbowl and my dream vacation wrapped up in one. they'd be able to do all the tourists attractions out here and much more. just get a whole entire experience out here.
Super Bowl is a 1 week long EVENT... You aren't getting people, with tons of cash, to come to cold weather locations.
If they did play the Super Bowl in a cold weather area such as NY, KC or Denver, it would have more true football fans instead of corporate big wigs who get tickets. It would make it more of a football game with the crowd being a factor and not make it sound like a golf tournament.
They would go north as long as the Staduim is a Dome or has a Roof. I mean I wouldnt consider Detriot as a warm temp state but since they have a Dome staduim, they got the Superbowl. Economics worked there too. The superbowl actually rejuvenated the city. Its all about teh Staduim
Fact there were more one day flights to and from Detroit last year than in all the Superbowls in Miami combined. In fact there were more one day flights than any Superbowl ever. It is exactly correct who wants to pay all that money to go to Detroit. It can be a hell of a lot more than 5k too. Shit the Playboy and Maxim parties alone were 2000 to get in. There were a sick amount of parties man. Too bad I did not go to any.
In addition to $, parties, etc., a big factor is that the NFL doesn't want the weather to be the defining influence on the game. For example, if this game was in, say Buffalo, and if it was snowing and feeezing, the Bears would have a huge edge. The idea behind a neutral site is to make it neutral in all facets.
They all spent the week last year in Detroit..... It's not that they won't go to the location for the week, it's that they won't sit in a freezing cold stadium... If there's a dome, there can be a Super Bowl...
so it's a neutral environment, and so the (corporate) fans can enjoy themselves...and detroit is not a hot weather city, it is a domed field, so therefor, the title of "why are superbowls always played in hot weather states" is false
Fans???? There are no fans at this game. This game is a travesty when it comes to respecting the fans of the teams in the game. The participating teams each get 17% of the seats and nothing requires them to give those seats to season ticket holders. So the reality is, in a 75,000 seat stadium, a maximum of 12,000 seats go to Bear and Colt fans and many of those "fans" sell their tickets for the $$$$. So in reality, you have about 15,000 fans of the teams in the stadium and 60,000 people on corporate or advertising or NFL junkets. It really disgusting IMO. I have never been to a Super Bowl (I'm waiting for the Jets to make it), but the thought that, if I don't win the lottery for the privilege of paying $700 a ticket at face value, the prospect of having to go to a ticket broker to buy Mike Tice's or someone else's tickets at $4-5,000 a ticket is absurd. The NFL should be ashamed of what this game has become and how is screws the season ticket holders of the teams in the game.
