Titans | Young heading to Pro Bowl
    Sat, 3 Feb 2007 07:11:17 -0800

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young will replace injured San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (foot) on the AFC Pro Bowl squad.

I guess Tom Brady declined to replace Philip Rivers, but if so, why was Young chosen over Pennington?

That is a bad move by the NFL or whoever made the decision.

Hopefully Pennington was offered and declined too.

Cause he's a more talented, more popular QB...emphasis on the popular=ratings.

As good of a story Chad is, Vince Young is a better one. Young did win a national championship last year in one of college football's best games. Plus, Young almost lead the Titans into the playoffs with a few comeback wins.

    JP Losman got snubbed!

Well, not really. But kind of. He had just as good a season as Pennington, with more TDs, and both of them were better than VY's ugly, ugly 50% completion number.

But it's the Pro Bowl, so who cares.

If Brady did decline, I would consider Pennington next in line.

Maybe I am partial, but Pennington deserved it more than Young or Losman since LTS brought him up.

I'd say it's a toss up. Penny made the playoffs, Losman had more TDs and less INTs than Chad, and Young made up for godawful passing numbers with his legs and dramatic wins.

Chad should be there over Young.
Pennington brought his team to the playoffs and passed for over 300 yards in the game.

Young did not get his team to the playoffs.

Chad needs the rest anyway. It would have made the pro bowl more fun to watch but it is actually better that chad is not going.

Pro Bowl is a combination of numers and popularity. Chad really didnt have either one this year. I love him. I think everyone in this area loves him but hes not exciting like Young is. Therefore it doesnt surprise me in the least way that Young made it over Chad.

Vince Young did pop Ellis Hobbs of the Patriots in the face and dropped him like a bad habit after an interception in week 17. Just sayin.

I agree, but I think Young is a bad choice. He didn't play a full season, his numbers were horrible, his team was 8-8.

I would say Brady,Pennington,McNair would of had to decline for Young to get it.

Chad did not have a ProBowl year, it's that simple. He had an average year when it comes to QB's. Not that hard to get.

    And Vince Young did?

Has there ever been a QB in the pro-bowl with a worse QB rating then him?

I challenge anyone to find this out...........

I can name about 5 other QBs who deserved it over Vince Young

David Carr, Chad, McNair, Rofflesburgers, Brady, Losman, and so on.........

You guys overrated Chad's year to the extreme. You can even go on record and say he had a bad year. Maybe Young wasnt the right choice, but Pennington definetly didnt deserve it at all.

Expect to get destroyed now by the Chad/Jet homers because you spoke the truth about Pennington's mediocrity. I won't go as far as having a bad year, but it wasn't good either.

No one is saying Pennington had a Pro Bowl year, but he had a good year.

Spots 1,2,3,4, were atleast already locked with Manning,Palmer,Rivers,Brady.

I would say after that it is a toss up, and Pennington could fit into that #5 slot.

No way Vince Young belongs there.
