Our early 2nd maybe for Turner, but our 1st, hell no. It's not an overrated pick. You get guys like Mangold in the late 1st. It's the high 1st rounders that scare the hell out of me, and I'm looking at you Brick. Late 1st rounders are generally lower risk with only marginally less reward.

This is the point everyone misses...

    We don't get a choice.

SD sets the tender. If they choose to deal fine, but they may not to and just say "sign your deal, submit it, and if we do not match, you have to give up the tendered pick(s)"...

right. and the 3 choices are. a first. a second. and a first and third. the latter is an unlikely scenario for SD to offer. sooooo us arguing over whether Turner is worth a first rounder is a very legit argument and the overwhelmingly most likely scenario....I think we all get it. And Champ, Ive defended you many, many times. But I gotta say bro, youre shtick is wearing real thin. How many more times are you going to post soley for the reason of saying that noone on this board "understands" or "gets it"...enough already.....what are the cap ramifications if we sign Turner to a 400 billion dollar contract jetsin2004?????? You both have this heir of supremacy and its sickening and not at all justified.

Cmon now nobody is going to pay him 400B so deal with reality please. Also SD determines if it is a 1st & 2nd or a 1st & 3rd & if we decide to make the move then we ante up whatever SD tagged him with plain & simple. The position of the draft choice has no bearing on making the offer which is what 2004 is attempting to explain

    There are 4 choices...

Low Tender - Round he was drafted in (5th round)
    Low/Mid Tender - 2nd Round
    Mid tender - 1st round
    High tender - 1st/3rd.

As for the restof your post, it sounds like nonsense to me.

Looks like yo reinforced my thought of it being nonsense. Sounds like someone is upset they were wrong and instead of just saying "Thanks" they have to mouth off.. It's typical for this place.

what if the guy we picked at 25 turned out to suck and Turner what to another team and became one of the best RB in the NFL. We can play "what if" all day but the great teams makes gambles like this.

Im wrong because I didnt include the 5th round tender option dude? please...looks like youre acting like a child by attempting to make me look wrong for excluding the obvious impossible option. Go make a salary cap chart

and "typical of this place" yo were trying to belittle the conversation of whether Turner was worth a first rounder when you damn well know, that is the most liely scenario...then of course Champ agreed with you because all he does is act like people dont know what theyre talking about...thats the real truth

I'd rather have the pick thanks. 2005 draft was crap without a first round choice. Besides, there's always, always the real possibility that someone rated much higher slips to the 20s, usually a RB. I'd like to hang on to the selection, thanks, and see who's there. Deal it to SD for Turner on draft day when the choice comes up if there's nobody we like.

Maybe peope are overrating the pick. However, the Jets did mange to get Mangold with the 26th pick last year. Beyond that, there are poistions I would address, and add depth to, first before RB. If the chart was a little deeper and other positions already addressed, I wouldn't mind seeing the trade.

That isn't a bad list actually. Darius, Holmes, Joseph, Carrol, Edwards aren't bad. Not that this has anthing to do with the discussion, I just like lists

Why the assumption that we have to either take Turner or pick 25th? There are other possibilities like trading the pick. If one believes that this is a deep draft, why not try to trade and get an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder if you don't like the options at 25?

    Luis Castillo DE (28, 2005)
    Marlin Jackson CB (29, 2005)
    Heath Miller TE (30, 2005)

    Kevin Jones RB (30, 2004)
    Ben Watson TE (32, 2004)
(*Steven Jackson went #24 in 2004)

    Larry Johnson RB (27, 2003)
