Jon Jansen, OT for Washington. Big guy at 6'7, 310ish, has been a very solid right tackle for years and is known as a very good run blocker. Washington's salary cap situation is very poor and some veterans are going to have to rework their contract or get cut. Washington has two young, huge tackles that they might take a gamble on can adequately replace Jansen for cheap. He's 31 but another veteran lineman can't hurt and similar to the Jets interest in Runyan last year I think this guy would be an upgrade on the offensive line if he could be had for a reasonable price.

Jansen used to be a premier OL as far as im concerned. but he started suffering season ending injury's the last 2 or 3 years.

In 2004 he tore his achillies before the season started and missed the year but between 1999 and '05 he started all 16 games every year and started 15 this year, missing the game against the Saints and prior to his rookie season he had started 50 straight games for Michigan and earned the nickname "Rock". Whether he's declining or not is up for debate but the guy is as durable a lineman there is.

I wouldn't sign Randy Thomas in a million years. Guy jumped ship quicker then you could say jumped ship. And this is when the Jets were thriving. No thanks.

Well he is no difference then others when they can use UFA, We had the opportunity to resign him but declined as he went to the Skins. To me ANYBODY that will upgrade us & make us a better team we should attempt to acquire

I do believe playing for a good team and having a good training program can make a difference with some guys that may have been injury prone with other teams.

Also, the Washington running game has been pretty the last few years. Hell, if they can make LaDell Betts look good, maybe this guy is worth a look.

Anyway, it would be great to take somebody back from the Redskins, and have him play great, just for spite alone.

I'm not sure if there is a big difference between Clement and Jansen at this point in their respective careers. I think they will try to improve that position with a younger guy, at the same time resigning Clement (or a Jansen type) for veteran insurance....

Jansen is OLD 31 anyway, that guy is ancient, and posters have already brought up that he is banged up all the time.

Jansen is old, injury prone and on the decline...he's not much much over Clement.
