trade value for JV? are you kidding me? why would we contemplate trading him??? oh, i forgot, the phantom bullshit stats say hes average and he sucks and hes never been nor will be good....silly me.
No I guess you did. His stats were very favorable compared to other 4-3 MLB's in the league, so why do you always use those stats as a way to bash Vilma? That is my question.
I did not post the stats & U to missed them when they were posted here or you do not chose to admit you saw them. No matter what U keep ur HO of JV & I will keep mine & we will see what the future holds for him knowing that Man also knows the stats & I am sure also finds his stats terrible & unacceptable
U R forgetting he ONLY got to the pro bowl as a replacement for Zach T? He was NOT voted in as either a starter or alternate
ok.....where was Vilma ranked then, because I remember specifically these stats you are talking about, yards Per Tackle by MLB's in the 4-3. Vilma's YPT was "pretty good", atleast in the top half of the league, atleast. Yet you continue to use this same stat against Vilma in all of your arguments. What gives Champ?
Obviously he was the 1st alternate since Thomas didn't go. Now, you must of meant he wasn't voted in as a backup, be clear champ, do not spew MISINFORMATION. I literally find impossible to trade a player who was, at the time, 24, coming off a Pro-Bowl season still under his rookie contract. Vilma wasn't demanding a new contract after his first 2 seasons, he knows his role and realizes he has to improve in his 2nd season in the 3-4. I don't really buy the "You need a dominant MLB to go to the SB."...Was Teddy Bruschi DOMINANT? Shelton Quarles DOMINANT? London Fletcher DOMINANT? Gary Brackett DOMINANT? Not for nothing Champ, but it's not 1 player on a defense that wins a game. The players I mentioned were/are good players...Not bad, not great, just pretty good players.
i think weve give champ enough attention for the day...tomorrow another day, and he can spout more of his BS then... btw, i never saw the phantom stats that you spit out, yet cant back up. even if you could, i doubt youd put it up because it would most certainly hurt your point.
So have I. I remember seeing them and saying to myself "this is what champ's talking about?". They really aren't as bad as champ makes them out to be. Hell, JV could make 50% of his tackles behind the LOS and champ would still bitch that he should make 75%. There really is no pleasing him.
Sorry U R missing the point all I am saying is he is average. That is it just another average player which is what we have since the 70s just average players which is why our only HOF players are from the 60s. Certainly I would want to exalt him if he was worth it but he is not which makes him just another player that will not leave his mark in the league. Just consider this let say we held 2 mini camps last spring then there was TC of about 5 weeks + a 16 game regular season & 1 PO game & he still has no handle on the D. That to me is very telling indictment of a player abilities I would say
Do U think that quality NTs just fall out of the sky into our laps? What do we do with JV IF we do not find that massive clog the middle NT?
Champ, please leave my mother out of your posts. And while we're at it, I don't think your Iraq exit strategy is particularly well thought out. Your fashion sense, I'll admit, is unassailable, though.
To me NT is our number #1 proirity and we have the money to fill the spot so it should be done. But even if we don't it does not make JV a liability. Personally, I don't think he will live up to his billinng until we properly protect him. But if we do he will be one of the better MLBs in the game. Either way, we have lots else to worry about besides JV. He is certainly not a concern going into the offseason.
