Vinny could get QB Coaching job in Dallas if he's interested. He would be a good fit. Vinny could be an NFL HC in the years to come if he wanted too. Well liked, respected, intellegent, well spoken, and he has connections.
I do not want my quarterback or any quarterback reading how to dissect a defense, from Vinny. He had a gunslinger mentality, rather then a read and react mentality. Vinny's good seasons were based on his ability to sling the ball in the gut of his receiver before a defensive back could step in front. You can't coach that.
Like another poster mentioned, Vinny is not really coaching material, he was more of a gun slinger. Of all the Jet QB's, I'd have to say Pennington would make the best coach.....
I'm sorry, but Vinny was not that good of a quarterback. I remember he was always good for 2-3 Interceptions against the Steelers. He had what...1...maybe 2 really good years? Even Kordell Stewart had that many good years. Yes..I just went there...
I think a QB Coach should be a guy who either was a very smart quarterback or has had experience at the quarterback position at a non-pro level. Vinny, while he was good in his prime, was a gunslinger, who threw a lot of picks. He could throw it with the best of them, but he did not read the field that often. He went with his first read and if the guy was open, or even if he wasnt open, he would shoot it at the guy. A quarterback coach should be someone like Chad, a guy who maybe doesnt throw it the fastest but makes smart throws, reads defenses, dissects them, knows where he is going with the ball and where his secondary receivers are. I dont think Vinny would be the greatest teacher. To the same token, I would not hate it. But there are better options.
no. that's fokken retarded to even think that. Give me a break..... Sophomoric humor is so 1990s.... :rofl2:
No way, Vinny couldn't be a head coach, he'd be accidentally blowing his nose with the red flag for the whole game, the refs would hate him when they picked that thing up.
