This just shows how well Mooge did there. Basically, according to Rich Hill model (which is a model version of classic Jimmy Johnson model) what they got is equivalent to #26 pick. Compare that to what Mooge got in his trades. Waddle is considered to be a really good young WR. But Miami simply can't afford him and effectively traded him for what amounts to 26th pick. That's a really good deal for Denver. Of course they have to now play his salary, but still, a very good deal for Denver.

This was a sweet spot for a trade anyway, even before Miami trade. All depends on how much he values these guys. If as much as most it is worth it to get a real #2 WR. If as much as @Rockinz values Lemon, not a chance.

Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields, Malachi Fields!

That is all....Best WR in the draft, IMO. Spent 4 hours watching "film" on whom I consider the top 5 WR's in this draft. Based on what I read here at the trusty ole' Gang Green, of course, because I don't watch college FB. Fields doesn't jump of the page, he climbs out of the page, slaps you across the face and says draft me and watch me break NY Jets receiving records.

Not that I’ve seen him play at all…

But just from the name Malachi…I’m skeptical and afraid :)

This is the worst time of year... people fall in love with the 7th highest ranked player at a certain position, call him the best, get mad when team doesn't draft him. And I'm just as guilty.

I won’t be mad…. Disappointed, yes, mad no. I really don’t know enough about them to be mad. I simply like what I’ve seen on “tape.”

I was a big supporter of Malachi Corley watching him play a bunch at WKU but that obviously didn't pan out. At least Malachi Fields played at a big school (even though their competition was such dogshit last year other than Miami, A&M & maybe USC). Dude had 36 catches for 630 yards last year and never topped 100 in a single game though.

I like Jordyn Tyson more, but that injury history scares me.

Malachi Fields profiles a lot like Denzel Mims. Not saying he’ll be Denzel Mims, but big bodied receiver, long strider, catches a lot of deep balls down the field over corners, etc.

Those guys scare me a lot more especially when they don’t come with dominating production.

I don't think a team that is obviously rebuilding and still has a roster full of custom-made holes should be wasting draft capital to move up a few spots in the first round.

It's exactly what Joe Douglas did with AVT and Lemon doesn't even compliment Garrett Wilson.

I think it was @Jonathan_Vilma that brought this up originally but the whole notion of “complementing“ when it comes to receivers is kind of a dying notion in today’s NFL. Not that you don’t want it, but it is very possible to stack similar receivers and if they have elite talent, it’s going to work out just fine. I remember the exact example was the Rams building around the same kind of receiver nonstop and it’s worked pretty good for them. Obviously you need a good quarterback and coordinator but I don’t think that should hinder your longterm game plan of stacking elite receivers. I’d absolutely trade up for Tate or Lemon. and I won’t compare either to trading up for an interior offensive lineman.

Yes. I like Lemon but he's not an elite receiving prospect. If he's there at 16 you can have the conversation but in no way should we be trading up for him, or anyone really. Concepcion at 33 might be the better selection anyway

I wouldn’t trade up for Lemon. I don’t think he’ll bust like Rockinz does but he didn’t blow my balls off when I watched him. He had a lot of two way go’s out of the slot and just outran every DB he faced off against.

That’s not a bad thing though. Fast guys don’t always need to be technical route runners. That’s why I like Tate though. He’s all of the above and can play inside or outside. OSU receivers are also required to be good route runners by Hartline. I think he’s in the Justin Jefferson mold.

Tate it the 1 far and away in this draft but I don't think he makes it to 10 which is where I think we'd be starting to target a WR trade up. What you just said about Lemon makes me wants him next to Garrett along with Breece underneath and Taylor up the seam (in a perfectly world at least). I'm not saying I think it's a no brainer to trade up, but if you can trade up and only give up 44 I will not be upset.

What I meant by compliment is that they are similar receivers and neither would be a fit to play on the line of scrimmage.
