Instead of using a draft pick on a WR, Jauan Jennings is still out there. From SI.com : Jennings remains unsigned after the opening week of free agency. Still just 28, Jennings is likely in the market for a long-term deal. He scored a career-high nine touchdowns in 2025, emerging as a top receiving threat for Brock Purdy and the Niners. Over the last two seasons, during which he’s made 30 appearance and 25 starts, Jennings has 127 receptions, 1,618 yards and 14 touchdowns. https://www.si.com/nfl/free-agency/ranking-10-best-remaining-free-agents-after-first-week
Would much rather use one of 16, 33 or 44 on a WR that will be cost controlled for at least three years and potentially resigned for the duration of their prime. But we also need a vet WR in the room. I don’t think it’s gonna be Jennings, he’ll have offers from good teams.
I really like Jennings, but I don't think he fits the jets. If the Jets needed to add a receiver to a winning team it would make a lot more sense.
There’s something weird about that guy. Every time I watch him play he does something awesome. And yet the niners barely used him, now he’s a free agent with little interest. I don’t understand it
The Broncos acquired star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and a fourth-round pick from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the Broncos’ first-round pick (No. 30 overall), a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick, according to multiple reports.
I would like him and a WR at 16. Preferably Jennings on a 1 or 2 year deal so that (much like most of the other moves made) we can cut bait for 27 after the rook settles in.
I get it kinda sucks seeing all these decent name WR sign on elsewhere for cheapy 1 year deals. But the free agent WR market has historically been a terrible investment, and we realistically aren't convincing any of these guys to sign here without paying the bad team tax (additional years of guaranteed money). Doing that doesn't make a lot of sense given our rebuild is basically at square 1. That said I'm also definitely not a general fan of overpaying anybody coming out of the Shanahan offense either.
I think Jennings should be one of our options. I think he is good. Had a good year last year. Surprised he is unsigned at this point. Realistically it should be something like this: sign a veteran like Jennings and draft one at 16, 33, or 44. If we trade for Thomas draft a wr little later but feel we need two to fill out the room. Best free agents available Jennings yes Diggs no Deebo maybe Maybe a few other vets but that seems the best options.
He has a known temper dating back to his career at Tennessee. He strikes me as the type of guy who doesn’t succeed outside the framework of the 49ers offense. Their main usage of him in most situations is to block. The only times he’s ever seen an uptick in receiving looks is when every one else is hurt. He’d force his way out of town ala Mecole Hardman by the deadline here.
No, no, no, no, no, no!!!! Juan Jennings is a fucking asshole. Oh, and a scumbag. A WR needy team, like the 49'ers, letting this guy walk is all you need to know. He's a real prick. No one is 100% sure as to what he said but a player punched him in the dick this past season and, from what I hear, he should have been punched in quite a few other places, too. Want NOTHING to do with Jennings or Aiyuk. Both not very good people.
I didn't know about his attitude, but it adds up I guess. I'm surprised he's still available from watching him play.
