Mocks all of a sudden are starting to have use going Reese at 2, Lemon at 16. And Brugler’s latest mock has us getting those two and CJ Allen at 33. I hate mocks. Now it’s in my head that we could have the perfect Reese, Lemon, Allen haul and I just know we won’t.
Still 13th according to the consensus: https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-drafts/2026/consensus-mock-draft-2026 I wish we didn't have to trade up, but I would do it to ensure we get him if he lasts till 10. If he falls straight to us it would be amazing though.
https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2026-nfl-mock-draft-titans-trade-jeremiyah-love I’d make some different selections with the picks but how cool would that trade be?
@NOVAJET You called it before, but it was not Sabo vs Blewitt, it was Sabo vs FankieV from Ustadium. Great debate Reese vs Bailey, film study as well. Sabo made a terrific case for Reese. I still think he was too critical of Bailey, but he showed a different angle on his analysis, not just pass rush, but overall Edge assignments. Bailey I think is a better pass rusher, and I really like the guy, but overall Reese had a lot of plays I didn't really appreciate before. He will probably be the pick and for a good reason. And if so, let's just hope he will develop as we all think he can. And do it quickly!
Like yourself I was a big sceptic of Reese. However, those wow plays on tape leave you thinking how can we pass on him. I really like Bailey I feel his FBI, the moves he’s got in his bag and first step is going to be lethal in the NFL. It’s just so hard to pass on that potential of Reese. For me I didn’t feel he was the best player on the field but when he makes a tackle sprinting 25 yards sideline to sideline you start to see that he’s a different dude. Reese is a Joker and he will never come off the field. They will line him up everywhere and let him cook.
I’d consider it for Tate but definitely not Lemon. Lemon is going to be a bust. You heard it here first!
I like this trade up if Tate is there. Mostly because you can bet that Miami who also desperately needs a WR as well are sitting at 11 will be looking to grab him.
Lemon is a guy that just gets open. His route running and awareness are incredible. His interviews at the combine dont scare me. Dude is a baller.
I think what separates Reese from the other couple edge players is versatility and the ability to make plays beyond bending the edge. I mean there were plays vs. Texas, Penn State, and Illinois where he lines up inside on a guard, bench presses the guard off him and makes a TFL. That is, however, IMO a nice to have rather than a need when looking at a prospect. But his versatility projects a bit like Micah Parsons. I think he’s a lot more raw as a pure edge rusher than Bailey and Bain. Not a huge arsenal of moves or setups because he just hasn’t rushed the passer enough. His pure strength and athleticism let him get an insane amount of pressures when he was given that assignment though.
The Jets don't need another small-ish possession WR like Lemon. They already have a premier one in GW. They need a bigger bodied guy who can stretch the field and high point throws. Tate looks like the next in a long, recent line of OSU star WR's. If he's there at 16 then I'd take him. If not, then take a poor man's Tate in Surratt at 33. Both would fill that void of big bodied, great contested ball WR's who did it against the best comp in the country. There is absolutely no need to trade up for Tate when you can get Surratt a little later. If you can get Bain or Bailey at 2 and another instant playmaker at 16 that's the way to go. There is absolutely no need for the Jets to trade up at any of their first 4 picks. They literally have the best draft assets through the first two rounds this year. Make the right picks and you don't need to give away anymore draft capital.
10 years from now we will look at this draft and WISH we had drafted Bain. Watch... The one thing the NY Jets do, almost without fail, is draft the wrong kid when they have the opportunity.
