Man this kid is a tough one… absolutely ravaged by injuries. Complete band aid.

However, when you put on the tape his separation is absolutely incredible. The wiggle and precision of his routes is truly top notch. Reminds me of AB.

He’s a luxury gamble pick. Total boom or bust. He could easily be the best receiver in this class or an injury riddled scrub. Time will tell. I don’t think the jets can afford to gamble on him but if they do and he stays healthy could be a grand slam.

You've sold me. My guess is the Jets probably don't even know he exists. Would be typical of our scouting dept. Let's hope I'm wrong.

His first name is “Malachi”, so he surely is on their radar

I genuinely think Malachi Fields is the best fit for our offense and the players we already have. I'm looking into Frank Reich offense's now, and I believe he would be ideal in his scheme. If we don't get Tate, I would love Fields. Underrated by a lot. IMO

They should know. He was the best player I saw at the senior bowl and his tape speaks for itself. The guy is a big boy baller.

Scrolling through X, I'm seeing Sonny Styles name being mentioned a lot at number 2. Is this even a possibility?

Edit: A lot of these guys reporting this are no-names. So they're probably just looking. for clicks.

Had a great combine and is a very good prospect but I can’t get behind draft stocks rising THAT high based off combine performance. I wouldn’t pass on Reese for him. Bailey maybe. Bain yes. But it would be a real big leap to take him 2 overall and we’d have to hope for the best.

Are you looking at him as possibly a second round pick? That would be awesome if we could pull a top OG at 33 and him at 44.

Too funny. Damn it I thought the same thing a couple of weeks ago! It's a name i had never heard of a few years ago, and now our roster is littered with it. : )

    I’d love him at 44.

At 33 I think we move off that pick for some reason. Either up to get a 5th year option or someone comes up for a kid they like and have a first round grade on. Gives us possibly a 2nd + 3rd for 33.

I don’t see it. We need an edge rusher especially with trading JJ.

As of right now I think we could see something like this take place. This is a combination of what I think the Jets need, what they will do and what I feel is the right pick. I had a little fun with potential trades but that’s because there are 2 receivers I really like in this draft and greedily want both of them lol

    #2 - Reese Edge

I think he has the scouts drooling. His combination of rare athleticism, joker type playing capability and frame to be able to put on much more weight makes him the pick. I don’t completely agree on this pick but I can completely understand why they would make it because the WoW plays are there on film and his athleticism is through the roof. I think he will be a full time edge but I don’t think he will ever come off the field so it makes him to hard to pass on.

    #16 - Simpson QB

There is just no guarantee next year we land in the top 3 again for a shot at Manning, Mateer or Moore. Ty Simpson is an intriguing prospect because his mechanics are simply outstanding. He played in the SEC and looked very good in the first half of the season. I felt he and Mateer were going to battle it out for the Heisman early on. Then Mendoza showed up and had a season for the ages. Anyway, Simpson showed me on film that he is a student of the game. He shifted his offence into proper protections, took care of the football through excellent decision making and ability to read through progression at very quick pace. It felt he was battling an injury later in the season and his play dipped. I think personally he was trying to do waaay to much and started playing some hero ball to keep up with Mendoza in the Heisman running. He should have stuck with what he does best carving up teams from the pocket and using his legs to pick up first downs when it’s not there. The potential is there with his better than average arm, FBI, mechanics and will to win.

    #33 - TRADE - (Trade back 7-15 spots pick up a 3rd)

    #40-48 - McNeil-Warren S

This young man pops off the screen. He’s a big rangy safety that covers a lot of field out there. On film he shows the ability to go for the football, he loves to punch at balls and compete on every play. He is an excellent tackler. As a true strong safety he can play in the box and cover TEs. I didn’t see him give up any balls over the top as well through his ability to cover a ton of field. Really like this kid and I could see him as a nice fit for this team playing with Mincah.

    #44 - Fields WR

This is a bit of a homer pick because I really like this player. I think the jets could go anywhere with this pick but I go with the big bad WR. Fields is a throwback above the rim type receiver. He uses his big frame and ability to make precise breaks to create space. My favourite trait is his hands! He has huge hands that are incredibly soft, it looks effortless when he gets his big mitts on a football. I also believe that he will be an excellent redzone threat for fade balls and back shoulder passes. He’s a good fit with Wilson as well.

    3rd rounder - TRADE - (3rd + 4th to #50-60

    #50-60 - Branch WR

Obviously, having a little fun with this mock draft but I really like Branch. The kid is shifty, has twitchy movement and an excellent burst of speed. I think he’s the best slot in the draft. Yes, over Lemon and KC. Lemon had Lincoln Riley get him on so many mismatches scheming him open that I feel it made him look a lot better than he is. KC had a lot of drops and I’m just not confident in his hands. Branch on the other hand can take a hitch 60 yards at any point. it gives the jets that true slot guy as well. Going into the season with Wilson, Fields and Branch I’d be pretty excited about that.
