All I got out of this is Woody is a piece of shit, gets involved and makes dumb decisions getting his hands dirty, he named his kid Brick like a dumbass, Woody is also mentioned in Epstein files and should really sell the team
Yeah, as much as I'd LIKE it to be so, I've heard no such thing that Johnson has been named in the Epstein files. That's probably more wishful thinking than anything else. Tisch, on the other hand, CLEARLY must have done some naughty shit because you don't up and place the ownership of an NFL team in trust to manage if you're innocent. I think that's how I heard it...a trust his kids run? I'm sure someone has a better breakdown. Whichever it is, as I said, if you are innocent you don't make that kind of move.
Imbecile, yes. Scrooge, no. Glenn just fired half the coaching staff, including both coordinators, after one year, who were under guaranteed deals for two more years, and Woody paid all new guys. To bring Reich is not cheap either. Wink's story just doesn't add up. He is trying to save face. Glenn straight up said, Wink was willing to come here without calling plays but when Glenn decided to call plays he wanted someone who knows Detroit system. This makes sense, and it is the same exact decision every HC made, who CAN call plays. Even Bob is calling plays now. Woody is a dumb ass, but paying half the staff again after 1 year, including Reich, is not cheap.
I wasn't intimating he was cheap on this when I mentioned his money. I used it as an analogy for him meddling where doesn't have any acumen. I could have just as easily said would Woody Johnson attempt to deliver someone's baby on his own kitchen table. The answer is no, he would call a mid-wife. After panicking and fainting, that is. I did indeed, though, used to call him Woody the Cheapskate, now that you inadvertently went there. When a permanently concussed Wayne Chrebet was being honored years ago at The Old Dump, instead of sending him and his wife on a nice vacation or something along those lines, he gave the guy a plaque. That's like Charlie Brown getting a bag of rocks on Halloween.
If he meddled by telling Glenn to call plays, he would have bene absolutely correct and smart. Glenn SHOULD call plays. Again, every single HC in the NFL today who can call plays reasonably well, does. It would have been smart for Glenn to also do it. But we all know Woody is not a smart man. Quite the opposite actually. So, I believe Glenn here that he made a smart decision to call plays and get someone who worked with him on Detroit defense. I do not believe Woody made these smart decisions, because he is an absolute moron. I also do not believe Wink, who said Glenn picked him over Duker, trying to save face. Glenn picked someone else, an up and comer, over Wink. I know it's hard for Wink to digest it, but that's what happened.
