LOL. A whole bunch of comments from folks that have not popped up on this board like forever, as this is some big freaking surprise. The comment of his performance last year reviewed in a vacuum.. Funny thing. If he wins us 7 games or so they will be the first to pop up again and complain that it cost us so and so QB in the draft.

I am much more concerned about the offensive guard and receiver problems than who gets to play bridge QB this year.

Simpson was expendable when AVT was coming back. Now the interior of our offensive line outside of Tippmann is trash.

Outside of Garrett our receivers are hot garbage.

I think our offseason telegraphs a pass rusher with the second overall pick.

Don't be surprised if the other first rounder is an offensive player instead of a cornerback.

Geno is the least of our many problems.

Worse on the optics.? Geno or not any option explored, as mediocre as it could be, was an order of magnitude better than Fields. Field is absolutely the worst excuse for a QB ever. Talk about bad optics. He doesn’t belong on an NFL field except as a RB.. End of story.
For Pete sakes. The back up for Buffalo came in for two plays in NY last year on week two, threw one pass and had more yards than Fields entire game. We are in this embarrassing mess because Fields was absolutely drop dead the worst ever. Where were you last year when Field was stinking up the place?

Personally was never a fan of Geno. I don't think his personality fits well in NY, but he was much younger at the time, so we'll see how this round goes.

This was the best option out there, so they had to do it. I think it will give them competent QB play that won't jeopardize the rest of the offense.

Been impressed with how Mougey has been operating, definitely upgraded the roster without selling the future with these deals.

Better figure out the guard/WR position, though....

Brady Cook wasn't being paid like a starting QB for a reason. This holds zero weight to me.

Don't turn this into a Fields and Geno debate. I made a mistake by even introducing it, for it overshadowed my overall point.

Geno was the worst QB in football last year, this being the "solution" to Fields. Is dog shit. DOG SHIT.

You think Fields is the reason for our mess? If so, you should reevaluate the situation.

Fields still, for all his flaws last season. Only threw 1INT. Let's not get crazy here, yeah?

If we are smart we will take OL at 16. There should be several promising ones available.

Brady Cook isn't being paid like a starter by the Raiders next season either.

I can't really get all that upset about this. Geno will be far from the Jets biggest problems this year. We're not going anywhere but a top 5 pick with this coaching staff anyway.

It's kind of cool now that we can claim that, with Demario Davis coming back for a third stint with the team, that we (somehow) have three players on the team that were here the last time the Jets had a winning season. Maybe Geno can catch lightning in a bottle the same way that Fitzpatrick did a decade ago and have that be a nice story for next season.

Stop, please. You can hate Geno all you want, that is fine. The fact Fields threw one interception is meaningless, as he was completely unable to read a D or complete a pass. You actually have to throw to be intercepted. He is not a QB. I can’t believe anyone defending him. Yes Geno was the worst QB last year, and one of the most prolific two years in a row before that. But he has shown that he can throw an accurate ball consistently and timely under a good OL. Was he my choice, no, but there wasn’t much out there willing to come to this mess. The Vikings where also looking at Geno, so it’s not just the Jets.
Fields never remotely showed he can actually play QB, and defensive formations confuse him and held on to the ball and not throw on time.
We shall see which Geno shows up, I’m not holding any hopes, but I least know he can be a threat with his arm.

Yeah complaining about the pick swap is for the sake of complaining.

Seeing as the Jets still have to pay Fields, I say let Fields & Geno battle it out for the right to win four games! o_O

Did you watch any games last year? Fields is the worst QB play for the Jets I've seen since Quincey Carter? Tom Tupa did a better job back there.

I think with the moves at safety, it seems obvious we take a WR with that second 1st.

It’s also obvious we are moving to a different defensive front scheme so I expect an OLB/DE pick with our first pick.
