Not too shabby for day 1. None of the top tier guys were coming here and nothing seems like a crazy over pay. The Fitzpatrick trade is really solid.
Absolutely, anybody upset is just miserable, we definitely improved, but then again it's almost impossible to get worse, other than the Jets doing it.
Someone just told me there’s rumblings of us acquiring Brian Thomas Jr. Anyone seeing this in the Twittosphere?
I’ve seen it. Hughes reporting we were in on it last season and will be again. It would probably cost 44, maybe 33. Id do it… he’s still on a rookie deal and had a fantastic year 1. Better than any WR we’re getting at either of those spots and WR is a huge need.
I believe this is spot on. Great deal on Mnkah. Other signings I am not sure. They are not super expensive, but not that cheap ether. 10-12 mil each, and Davis is 37 and even has 4 mil of next year fully guaranteed, when he will be 38. Onyemata is 33. Glenn is getting the guys that will fit his system, and we are just going to have to see if they hit. These are not obvious slam dunks like Minkah, but Glenn got his guys on defense. Player Position Age 2025 PFF Grade Contract Details Demario Davis LB 37 80.3 2 years, $22M ($15M gtd) David Onyemata DT 33 78.2 1 year, $10.5M ($9.65M gtd) Joseph Ossai EDGE 25 64.0 3 years, $36M ($22.5M gtd) Kingsley Enagbare EDGE 26 61.2 1 year, $10M
I don’t want top tier guys as much as I want leadership and professionalism. Plug holes w solid vets/jags and build a foundation and culture
Well Simpson started, AVT would have started had he not been injured, so we had Tippman at RG, and he’s still here. I’d prefer to keep one of either AVT/Simpson, but we already lost Simpson and may lose AVT as well as I haven’t heard that we are trying to keep him.
That does suck, looks like AVT wants to leave, not Jets' choice: https://x.com/JakeAsman/status/2031122595853009255
I wouldn't mind seeing Mougy make a trade, we certainly have tons of draft capital, but it's all irrelevant until we see who will be playing QB, probably really only 2 options there "Gino" or Wentz
I'm out on a 2nd for Brian Thomas. This is a third year player, top draft pick on a reasonable salary who had a great rookie year then suddenly fell off despite a good QB and very good offensive coach. This one stands out as a major flag as to why they're trading him. I'd rather draft our own guy
Yeah not sure I’d do a second rounder with all of our needs…would probably prefer to spend our 16 overall on a WR or if the top three are gone by then well maybe it has to be the 33rd pick…but fucking ‘ey our luck drafting 2nd round receivers is fucking abysmal…
Sources: The #Jets are signing former #Giants S Dane Belton to a 1-year, $4M deal with upside to $6M. Belton has 240 career tackles and 4 sacks to go along with 6 career INTs and 4 FFs and 4 FRs.
Interesting…with Moore still here, the trade for Minkah, and now this signing, sure seems like Caleb Downs is not on the menu, no?
