I would’ve went and found someone else too. He barely had enough leg against the Falcons at what? 56 yards? Granted, that was in conditions at MetLife but kickers should have plenty of leg from that range.

why not make an offer for Aubrey?

The Cowgirls have a 2nd round tender, and yeah thats steep but he's the best kicker I've EVER seen. What a weapon, especially in todays NFL when you get the ball at the 35 to only have to pick up a couple 1st downs for 3 points

Not that he ever felt like a real option but Mariota back to the Commanders.

4:07 p.m.: SNY is reporting that the Jaguars are shopping WR Brian Thomas Jr. in a trade, and the Jets may be interested.

Yeah, and we weren't going to grease Linderbaum's palms the way the Raiders did. 3yr/$80/$60 guaranteed... 20 bills, guaranteed, for a center is pretty rich.

This bears watching. Thankfully, Mougey seems to be a frugal guy.

Agree. I'm willing to swap for Sherwood at this point.

I actually feel pretty good about the fact we aren't making any horrible value overpays on the upper end free agent WRs.

Find our #2 in the draft and just let them have the extra opportunity.

Yeah, some of you are hating too hard on Tua imo. He was realistically my #2 or 3 preference bridge qb for us behind Murray (#1) and Cousins.

That said I didn't see Atlanta being in the mix at all.

Less options to fall back on isn't a good thing either. Especially if we end up in a scenario of waiting on guy who ends up predictably signing with Minny.

Tua was terrible last year. He trashed coaches, trashed teammates, notoriously plays terrible in the cold. He was so bad and unwelcome that his former team is paying $99 million to not have him around. In no way was that a viable, logical option for us.

Give me Geno over Tua every day of the week. He was terrible last year, but he was great the year before on a team with a good OL and run game. I'm not pretending we're playoff bound with him here but I'd give him a much better chance at operating this offense at an NFL level than I would Tua.

I'd rather start Wentz than Tua.

Cardinals signed Minshew. I wonder if that makes Brissett more attainable...

I got a shitty feeling that Geno's coming back to the Jets.

Yeah, we are on completely opposite sides of the projection spectrum. I'll take Tua's 2026 season while leaving that Miami mess behind all day over Gino's.

Gonna QQ pretty hard if we wait out Murray, watch him predictably go to Minny, and end up with Gino Take 2.

I'd of taken half the guys signing backup deals today over Gino as our starter. You guys saying you are ok with it now will booing Gino out of the building faster then Fields.

Is there a story behind spelling it "Gino"?

Let's call it like it is: every option sucks. Kyler and Cousins are the best available and the only guys that are likely to have success with a new team and they're going to get offers from better teams than us. After that, it's all a crapshoot. Tua is problem, he runs his mouth and as no idea when to stop, likely because he's had 17 concussions and can't think straight. I'd take Geno over him, but I'd also take half the guys signing backup deals today over him. So it's less about wanting Geno and more about realizing Tua is more than just a bad football fit here.
