From what I hear. He's a guard. Best olineman. Not opposed but feel could do something else of need. Might be the best spot for a trade down. Next week the combine will help clarify as well as free agency. See what happens.
Yeah that was a brain dead idea…with all of the key needs on this team (WR, Edge, LB, S) taking an IOL at 16 would be beyond stupid. Just resign either of AVT or Simpson. Agree it feels like sometimes these guys just throw shit out there without even taking two seconds to actually look at a team’s needs
Yeah, and some of these guys putting them out there are clueless…they clearly don’t look at the actual team making the pick and incorporate team needs into their mocks…it’s more like listing out the players in some kind of order of how they think they are rated. So yeah, kind of worthless if you’re trying to predict what will actually happen (as opposed to what that writer thinks should happen solely on his own player rankings or something like that). I do like, however, to see them all as it starts giving some kind of view on where players can be expected to go. Obviously they can and often are wrong and every year we have players who go higher or lower than expected, but it’s a nice general gauge. And it’s fun!
I want Ty Simpson and he will not make it to 16. I also want Want Reese real bad. Think he will come in and play de mostly for us but by mid season he will be one of the better de in league. but since Simpson won’t make it to 16 we should or atleast I hope take him at 2OA. Then i would trade up from 16 to get lemon or Tate. As soon as one of those wr are off the board id start calling to inquire how much it would coast. I was thinking 16 plus 44 should get us to about 8th. Then with our 33rd pick id trade down to recoup the assets we used to trade up from 16 earlier. 33 is first pick in second round and there will be offers for it. We need a 1b wr to go along with the rook wb who should sit most of year and learn. So we will need a back up for a year. I say trade for Winston or cousins or Murray. Don’t like Murray attitude that much but he is a top 20 qb in this league. Also if we could get a draft pick to acquire him because of salary then I’d jump on that or they take some of cap hit so it’s cheaper and we give a late round draft for him. If he does well we could trade him next offseason because I think he has 2 years remaining on his deal .But Ty Simpson will be a good one just need him to learn for a bit especially now we got a real oc and qb coach.
Simpson at 2 is an incredible reach, most draft pundits have him late first at best, maybe early second. I really hope we don't do it, 0% chance we take another one in 27.
Not taking Tate at 2 when he isn’t even the best WR on his own team if we traded back and got some picks and was still there sure. But def not at 2 sorry would rather go D
Not sure we can afford to go anything but defense at 2. We need a top to bottom makeover. There are going to be 3 guys with star potential sitting there for us to pick from, and one of them has elite potential. I know we're trained as Jets fans to think offense offense offense but that's not the case anymore.
If Ty Simpson goes in the first round it will definitely be the Jets or a team just as stupid as the Jets.
Bain skipping the combine. "My tape speaks for itself" Quite weak. Reeks of a guy who knows his measurements will lower his draft stock. I wasn't all that skeptical until his camp decided to tell everyone they should be skeptical.
Agree completely. Getting him in the first round is absolutely the worst move for the Jets of all teams. It will be a completely wasted pick sitting on a bench for a team that desperately needs four key starters now. First off, Simpson is not remotely ready, he will need at least one year of sitting and learning and hopefully develop. May be. Pretty much every single QB drafted with that small amount of college work has failed in the pros, he will be no exception. Add the fact we have a dead man walking as HC that needs to protect his job, and panic enough to rush him into the starting role to save his job and fail miserably. It is time to build this team with enough starting caliber pieces before we make a top draft QB move.
No. Either we draft a QB in the 1st 4 picks to be our QB now or we draft one in the 4th or 5th round as a project. Ty Simpson is a project, we do not have the luxury of wasting 1st or 2nd round picks on him, especially with next year’s crop being much better than he is.
Why do people bother perpetuating bs stories? I don't mean you, obviously. Anyway, the Jets do a fine job of trolling the fan base just being on the field.
