BROOK,,,,,,as I was just saying too someone else,,,,,IMO the airports won't be open Monday,,some models have the snow ending in the afternoon and others have it ending at night but again IMO = I don't think it will matter,,,,it all remains to be seen but again if what these models are showing today verifies I just cant see the airports being open Monday ps and even if they somehow are the backups and delays are going to be insane
I think you will be using the blower ,,,,,,,,,,4 - 8 maybe 6 -12 depending on how far north n west this system trends,,,,,,,I can tell you that the #'s along the 5 boroughs and LI and Jersey are too low for sure
Your totals have gone up since this morning,,,,,,the models have been looking fantastic all day and each run seems to outdo the previous run ,,,,,,models keep pushing this North n west little by little -----you could possibly see over a foot
Gfs just ran and it said "Brook is fooked" and the Euro said he should stay away from the young girls at Mickey Dees in Florham Park I literally just settled in as I have been running around doing things so I need to play a little catchup with the models that said, everyone is in danger of losing power as the winds will be cranking for hours and hours and the snow MIGHT BE heavy,,,,,,that said I started my generator and snow blower today just for shits and giggles. As far as the storm = as I wrote to Cman the models just keep on doubling down , they have done this all day long and last night also ---each run which has looked amazing gets even wilder with the next run. No one knows where the heaviest bands will actually set up but there will be some ridiculous snow rate accumulations everywhere but especially in those areas where it could be 3 or 4 inches per hour,,,,,,,which is just mind blowing. I expect at least 18 inches here in Rockland but I think many people might be looking at at least 18,,,,,,,maybe I will post some snow maps later as they are fun to look at but the reality is we are close to game time and it is almost time to just look out our windows and post what is happening in our neck of the woods. Someone is going to flirt with 30 inches of snow
Snow began falling at 7am,,,,,show time is much later this afternoon or tonight as this should be one that we all will remember https://www.youtube.com/shorts/k6_tN-ne8_I
JUST A HEADS UP and Brook might like this ,,,the mornings MESOS they are short range models all cut snow amounts bigly ,,,,,,,,,,,,The Euro was the only model this week to show lesser amounts but it caved somewhat to the other guidance ,,,,,all we can do is watch this play out
Somebody dial 911,,,,,,,call a cop,,,,,,,,The US Hockey team literally just stole the Gold Medal,,,,,,,,,feel bad for Canada as they totally dominated this game if not for Hellebuyck The US would not have won, this guy deserves mad props
CBG What does that mean? So snow totals will be on the lower side? Any estimate for Madison? Also do you still think my 8:10 pm flight can take off Monday night out of Newark based on this new update? Also, fuck Snow, fuck Snowy Canada.... And finally I am pumped that USA won. YEAAHHHHH
Brook,,,,,we wont know what it means until tomorrow when all is said and done because it is literally nowcast time. These models I referred to still show a lot of snow ,,,,so if it's not 2 to 3 feet but instead it is 1 to 2 feet will it matter ? That said some of them show totals of 8 or 9 inches N n W of NYC so that is something to watch as they show a cutoff of the higher amounts which is no where near as far west as the other guidance was showing yesterday,,,,again these are short range models that we would like to think would have a better grasp on the dynamics so close to game time but they may or may not = all we can do is watch. As far as your flight I know for a fact that many flights scheduled for tomorrow afternoon had already been cancelled as of yesterday. I still expect a shitload of snow but all we can do is watch the radar and see how this is developing in live time and that will tell us which models if any had the right idea. BTW dont look out your window right now and say that this is a bust because the storm was never supposed to begin early but was always depicted late late afternoon or early evening,,,,,,,that said if 8 or 9 pm comes and nothing is happening ,,,,,well that would be very telling,,,,,,,congrats to team USA and Mother Nature if you could please give Brook and the others a shitload of snow I would be grateful
Hey @Brook! , every statistician in the world, at least of my era, is familiar with Cary, NC, as it is the home of SAS. Does your work have anything to do with them?
Hi Jeff. Nope. We are a global Pharma company with offices in Cary, NC Thanks for chiming in. Glad to hear from you.
