Brissett would be one of the QBs that the Jets should look at, but I very much doubt he's going to be available. I can't see Arizona deciding to completely empty their QB room in a 1 QB draft and an offseason where there's little to nothing available in FA to replace it with, coupled with the fact that Brissett, were he to hit FA, would probably be one of the best options that would be available anyway.

Brissett would be a trade target which helps us but I also agree that Arizona probably isn’t letting him go for a late round pick considering their QB and rookie head coach. Gotta hope for some kinda Reich revival of a vet. He’s done it a few times. Again I’m not saying it’s like I’m saying there’s a pathway to 7-8 wins and this staff sticking around.

I know, my point about him hitting FA was that, in that scenario, he would be one of the top targets for a team needing a QB for 2026. If Arizona is moving on from Murray, it wouldn't make sense for them to also move Brissett, given that they would then need to turn to the FA pool, where they would then be downgrading themselves at that position when they could have just kept the better guy in the first place.

I think we're more likely looking at people like Cousins and Mariota or, if Mougey decides to take a big enough swing from a financial perspective to lure him here in order to outweigh the fact that this isn't a good situation, a retired Derek Carr.

Honestly, Cousins probably gets us to 8 wins. If it’s 8 wins and our rookies and young guys are the driving force then I’m all for it. And at this stage of the game I think it’s gonna be a majority of our young guys playing the most snaps. The random vets aren’t signing here outside of maybe Anzalone (which would be a plus). Glenn calling the defense with probably 3 top 44 picks playing on it, plus Briggs Brownlee AZ Stephens JJ WMD… it’s conceivable. Not likely. Conceivable.

That being said, Cousins is going to have better opportunities and one of them is going to be in Miami.

I’m curious to see what Miami does though. The roster isn’t very good nor is it that young. With a big QB draft coming up I figured they were going to cut Tua and take a crack at tanking the season while enduring salary cap hell this year.

Yeah they are in a little bit of no man’s land. If I were them I would move on from Tua, eat the hunk of shit and focus on 2027. But I can also see them thinking well… We were in the hunt with no quarterback, have a WR1, have one of the best RBs in the game and a new defensive philosophy, Kirk probably gets us into the wildcard. If I’m a Dolphins fan I want them doing the former.

Could easily see them going hard for Willis and that crashing and burning. As a Jets fan I’m rooting for that.
