Let me put a disclaimer first. I am on the Glenn sucks camp. Yes he didn't do a good job first year but he is given a second chance and I think he deserves it. First for being an ex-Jet player and second, for giving him another year to correct his mistakes. Let's not turn this thread into another "Glenn sucks, there is no hope" discussion.

With that out of the way, I am mostly looking forward to draft. Free agency is a suckers game. But draft brings you foundational players for cheap. But I have some hope for Free Agency as well. Draft first.

My biggest hope is the trade down in the 1st round. I badly want another 1st rounder in next years draft I am willing to drop 8-10 slots if necessary. I am no college football experts. But I am reading there is not many difference between top 10-15 players in terms of value.

My second hope is to solidify the defense during draft. I know we need another top WR along with G.Wilson but I think we can grab that during FA. We will not be world beaters on offense we as well invest in a strong defense this year and address QB and offense in next years draft.

My 3rd hope is that we use this offseason to build us for long term. I don't want to sacrifice future to extend lives of Glenn and Moug. This falls on Woody. Regimes on shaky ground tend to sacrifice the future of a franchise. I hope this doesn't happen to us this year. I want Moug spend wisely while giving out contracts and I want Glenn to help Moug draft wisely and not spend future picks like a drunk sailor.

I have hope for the future. I know what "Red" said in Shawshank Redemption. Hope is a dangerous thing, hope can kill a man. But I still have hope for the future of this franchise.

You stink so much, I can smell it from a thousand mile.

We can get no breaks from the Jets. We are the die hard fans who come to TGG daily. Accept the fact please.

He’s a really good fourth round gamble but the problem is he probably goes in the third, we don’t have a third and 44 is too high.

The hell you say. You want to make a "gentleman's bet" that he doesn't make it out of the 2nd? The QB talent in this draft is abysmal, starting with Mendoza, and working your way down. In fact, it wouldn't blow my hair back, what's left of it anyway, if he somehow miraculously went at the tail end of the 1st with some desperate team trading back up. It's just that bad.

Wouldn’t even be mad if we took him at 44 it’s just not my preferred option.

    I look forward to seeing
    A) A new QB behind center and a rookie new QB in the wings
    B) A new no kidding mid LB
    C) A new big bad edge

Good late summer fishing mostly... Other than that? not much. I'll see what the roster and the team looks like. Zero expectations as just like '25, there's too much "new" being installed at the same time to expect instant jelling. This is another rebuild year with most of the rebuilding happening at the Coaching level which is good.

Makai Lemon. After that, I almost don’t care. I just think we’re either too high or too low to make that happen.

I’d also like a reason to watch Jets football in 2027. That’s not a typo.

I look forward to the Hope Season which is now before the draft and FA. After that comes the Hype Season.

    That’s when I’ll sell em.

I’m still cautiously hopeful. Like you I wasn’t impressed with Glenn at all. Hopefully with all the new changes in staff something good might happen.

I also agree with the aspect of trading down, but question if anyone will trade up due to the lack of hot prospects. Perhaps it’s because I’m shell shocked, but I always wait for Woody to further destroy this team that I have loved my entire adult lifetime. Although it’s fading, hope is alive.

The only thing I hope for is that the current people running the organization don't do anything further to push me closer to the edge of shutting down my NY Jets fandom.

It's like Greg Kinnear, in "Invincible - The Vince Papale Story." Kinnear, playing Dick Vermeil, telling his team, "You are who people turn to when times are hard. You are who gives them hope." Now, I won't go as far as an NFL franchise giving me hope but I will say that I watch football because I love the game. Hell, I love EVERYTHING about the game. I can watch Pro Football all day long.........when it's watchable. I don't have any family legacy. I wasn't originally from NY although I lived in Manhattan for a decade, LI for 2 years and another 2 in Jersey. My path to "rooting" for the NY Jets was a different one than most and I keep that locked away in my "good memory" folder. Whatever the reason, the NY Jets are my team, followed by the 49'ers for love of my wife.

The last 20 years have been hard. I don't need to explain it to you all because you are living it with me. Football has been one of my escapes from a reality that has been growing increasingly shittier the last 9/10 years, thanks to a pedophile jackass. Again I digress....

This offseason I want to see INTELLIGENT decisions being made. Decisions that a damn warthog could make in it's sleep. There are so many of these types of decisions needing to be made with the Jets, it simply seems they never make them. We're always left scratching our heads. I have 2% faith in Glenn, I only hope Mougey can satiate the other 98%. So, I guess we'll see.

Remember in the 2012 preseason when we kept the Tim Tebow Wildcat plays a "strategic secret" so teams wouldn't have film to prepare when they were finally unveiled in the regular season?
What a joke... I want a preseason like that LOL

This ought to do it Mezz lol, look I know both Jake Asman and Manish are polarizing but please give this a chance, especially you Jets79 because I know you don't like to watch or listen to this kinda stuff. Manish goes in depth into the dysfunction that is the Jets and it's the closest I have come to jumping ship with this team. I had very little hope before listening to this interview, I have none now unless something changes at the top.

Putting this in the Woody thread, it needs exposure.
